It seems in this case everyone is saying that this is just what happens when SWAT attacks. Not so.
They should have sued for SWAT negligent procedure and provided as evidence photos of undamaged or slightly damaged houses after similar SWAT standoffs. Other SWAT teams seem to be able to accomplish this without demolishing the house.

While governments must pay for property seized under eminent domain, governments dont have to pay for property destroyed by police in pursuit of enforcing the law, the court ruled.
So why was Harry Callahan’s Chief always getting on his butt about how much his destructive police work cost the city? lol

There have been many cases like this where tear gas shot into the building resulted in a fire which destroyed the place.
