A former Boston College student has been charged with involuntary manslaughter for allegedly driving her boyfriend to jump to his death from a parking garage, 90 before before he was set to graduate.

Suffolk District Attorney Rachael Rollins held a press conference on Monday to announce the indictment of 21-year-old Inyoung You in connection to the death of Alexander Urtula, 22.

Both were students at Boston College at the time Urtula's death on May 20. You later dropped out of the university. You is currently in her native South Korea. Rollins said she is cautiously optimistic that the woman would voluntarily return to Massachusetts to face the charger. If she fails to do so, prosecutors will seek her extradition. During the news conference, Rollins said that Urtula's family were in town to see him graduate from Boston College, where he was a biology major.

Instead of taking part in the commencement ceremony, Urtula went to the Renaissance parking garage in Roxbury and leaped to his death.

Rollins said his girlfriend of 18 months, You, had been tracking his movements that morning and was in the garage at the time of his suicide.

A search of Urtula's cellphone has revealed that You was 'physically, verbally and psychologically abusive' during their relationship, according to the district attorney.

Rollins said the abuse became 'more powerful' in the days and hours leading up to Urtula's death.

OK, she is not a nice person, but that doesn’t make her a murderer. I can’t see where the criminal act is; or is this just a violation of legislated political correctness being violated?

Ha ha ha ha - fat chance. Grandstanding by a prosecutor. Where have we seen that before? Hint Martha Stuart Duke Lacrosse team, etc. And why is she facing a car? (Charger)?

I agree with you. If you’re stupid enough to jump off a building because someone texted you to do so, you’re too stupid to live.

Hoping Miss You doesn’t have her own set of personal pronouns.

She tracked him down to the roof of the parking garage. Drove there, yelled at him to commit suicide and video taped it.

This one is little more involved than the other one.

You is not guilty.

Yeah, and that's probably how she was able to gain that much control over him.

IIRC, the other girl in Boston who did something similar was also 'not guilty'.

You mean if I yell “Jump! Jump!” towards the guy blocking traffic by threatening to jump off the bridge, I can be charged!??

Conrad Roy and Michelle Carter. That is the "get back in the truck" case.

“I agree with you. If you’re stupid enough to jump off a building because someone texted you to do so, you’re too stupid to live.”

If you are severely depressed and with her pushing him to do it she should be charged.

I was in severe depression at a bad time in my life and was hours away from offing myself. If you have never been there you don’t understand.

According to your own comments, it is a rumor:

There is a rumor that she video taped the suicide.

However, even if that rumor is true it changes nothing. He still was the one who followed through with his suicide. After about 3 texts from her I would have blocked her number and never heard from her again. If she approached me at the college, I would have taken out a restraining order against her.

Supposedly he is a man, but he failed to act like one.

lol

I’ve had a few texts from exes saying “why don’t you just do everyone a favor and die!!” :)

But heat of the moment stuff and no detail...

And I laughed hysterically every time :)

It appears the video tape is from the parking garage not the girl.

I would block the girl as well but it appears this poor kid was unstable.

One of those doesn’t fit. Martha Stewart was a Series 7 stockbroker for TEN years before she became famous and the SEC will ALWAYS hold licensed (even formerly licensed) representatives to a higher standard of responsibility. She was not a victim there.

I used to offer the following advice to my sons and nephews: don't ask me for advice regarding women.

I've updated it now: stay away from women who went to college in Boston, and don't enter into a serious relationship with a woman who has 5 or more sisters.

My wife has six sisters and they have a photographic memory for everything I've done wrong (or perceived to have done wrong) over the past 37 years. They have the ability to combine their mental faculties, similar to the array of satellite dishes at SETI...lol.

Will Rogers nailed it: there are two ways to argue with a woman, and both are wrong.

He was stable enough to make it through college to get a degree, or was 90 minutes away from getting that degree that he had earned already. You are now guessing he was unstable, but there was apparently no record of this so-called stability problem that I have heard about.

No, he couldn't handle rejection, and he was a weak person who then decided to take his own life just to show her. He should have showed her by getting involved with another woman who wasn't like this queen biotch, and made a life for himself.
