West central Wisconsin here. Frost last night. So many flowers courting the grim reaper. The potted Hibiscus are now in the foyer; loaded with a batch of their stingy blossoms - finally - just in time to croak if outside. But the field corn is all black layered, so a good frost will speed up the natural drying.

Hi all.

Can anyone give me a step-by-step instruction for planting cauliflower and brussels sprouts?

I'm in cool northern region.

I started both indoor. The cauliflower went straight to seed and the BS languished and produced only a few edible buds.

I can buy giant versions of each from local farmers but I can't seem to get them right.

My father had great success with brussel sprouts and he never invested much effort into any special gardening tricks. He popped the seeds in the soil and they grew.

Thanks for the help.

Sorry I'm late to the harvest but I have breakfast with some really old guys at a local Denny's on Saturdays. Here is a photo from Eric in the ozark and he says this is the last of his tomatoes ...

Sigh; hard freeze Tuesday night, with 5-6” snow Wed-Fri. Before it hit, we picked about 4 gallons of unripe peaches, and as many apples as we could..

Hoping for the best with the peaches; going to go through tme tomorrow, and start cooking them.

In the past few days things have really colored up around here! How are things in your neck of the woods, fall-color-wise?
