Gallup: Americans, Especially Republicans, 'Remain Largely Mistrustful of the Mass Media'
cnsnews.com ^

The poll found that only 41 percent of Americans have either a "great deal" of trust (13 percent) or a "fair amount" of trust (28 percent) in newspapers, television and radio to report the news "fully, accurately and fairly."

Gallup said this represents a four-percentage-point drop since last year; and it marks the end of earlier improvements since the record low of 32 percent trust in 2016, the run-up to the election.

Gallup said Republicans' trust is at a very low level -- 15 percent; while 69 percent of Democrats and 36 percent of independents say they have trust and confidence in the media.

Mistrustful? Uh, yeah. Looks like LOTS of folks lied to monsieur gal-OOp. I’ve found the pro urinalists untrustworthy for years. Many years. Oh, say since wally concrete declared VN lost? Possibly before that.

It’s quite fitting that this Gallup poll was released today.

Think of this: There are two major political parties and 85% of one of them thinks the allegedly “fair and unbiased” news media is untrustworthy.

What an indictment of the journalism industry.

Mistrustful is different than distrustful.

The former implies that you trust something you shouldn’t.

The latter implies that you don’t trust something.

We distrust the media. Democrats mistrust it.

And it JUST keeps getting worse, no correction, or coming back to a more balanced view of the news. Strickly opinions of very leftist journalists whose job is to destroy Donald J. Trump. No more CNN for me.

My trust in the media (anywhere, US, UK, Europe, etc) ranks somewhere in the league of Prava, press releases from the previous Stassi or KGB, announcements by ChiComs or Badgdad Bob.

It is a case of pick ‘em as far as I’m concerned.

41% do not know how to watch something live so they rely on tge lying media to tell them what they want them to think.

How illustrative of their relationship.

Well once the political machinery of mostly the democrats started stocking the executive offices of the media with their best psy-ops pitchers, the echo chamber is real. It’s not going away quietly.

Even in conservative circles, I see Cronkite being held up as the paragon of journalistic integrity. It turns me into Annie Wilkes. “Do you all have amNESia?! We didn’t lose the cockadoodie Tet!”
