Nope. When I stopped using shampoo, my hair got oily and stinky. Didn’t get thicker.

Well, the individual hairs may have become thicker due to oil...

That’s interesting. I think it’s possible.

I stopped using anything but hot shower water to clean my hair 15 years ago. Never go back.

Your body is changing as you get older.

Just wash your hair and start taking biotin.

That is interesting, but doubt it will work for my hair.

I am almost 68 and have hair as thick as I had when I was 18 with no gray. There’s nothing like genetics when it’s working in your favor LOL

Sometimes when I’ve run out of shampoo, I rinse the hair with just shower water. The only thing that happens is my hair is stiff and gunky and dirtier feeling than if I’d done nothing.

I wish, hope and pray to the God of Hope and Restoration for that experience!

For what it’s worth, look into the use of apple cider vinegar (ACV) as a way to wash your hair, scalp and skin.

Supposedly, it will clean, disinfect and leave things better than it found them.

However, it’s an acid, so take it slow and dilute to an appropriate strength if you have sensitive skin.

Shampoo is a powerful hair tonic and revitalizer. How else to explain the on-going relocation of hair from my head to my ears, nose and back?

Depends on your physical makeup and what kind of shampoo you use. Also, daily shampooing (or more) can be harmful. I have a friend who is OCD. He washed his hair too much, got propecia and lost about half his hair. He brushed his teeth so hard he tore up his gums and was threatened with gum surgery if he didn’t cool it. He walked so far every day for his “health” that he ruined his feet and had to slow down on that too. He can’t lift weights because he overdoes it and hurts himself.

Moderation in all things is the way.

Maybe it depends on the type of shampoo you are using. Consider the ingredients.

I not only stopped shampoo, but the accompanying shower that used to go with it. My wife moved out a month ago, and here I am drinking beer and watching football. Life is good.

The problem may have been just that particular brand of shampoo.

I recommend trying a different brand, but good shampoo and conditioner is good for your hair.

When I was very young, I used a particular brand, heavily advertised, and my hair started to fall out in clumps. I switched shampoos and it grew back and stayed great.

To me the trick is to have 5 or more different shampoos and rotate to a different one each day.

Thus, each one rinses out the residue of the shampoo of the previous day and does not build up.

Hope that helps.

Swim daily. Chemicals in the pool are harsh and do horrible things to your hair.

On Amazon found a shampoo and conditioner designed specifically for swimmers. Since using pool shampoo and conditioner my hair is now silky, manageable and healthy.

I’m 62, don’t have that much hair. But I’ve got all my teeth and never had a cavity. Its genetics.

Most shampoo is designed for 21 year old white girls. If your hair is not too long, water and maybe soapy water is all you need. Your hair does not benefit. You scaled does. Don’t use shampoo too often. We bath too much and we shampoo way too much. Its gotten to the point that we are not used to the smell of people. Our bathing is not healthy. Its just a habit that perpetuates itself and is pushed on by P&G. Americans bath more than any other country, but our life span is not higher.

A dry shampoo aerosol can shot out of this St. Peters, MO hot car and landed fifty feet away.
