President Donald Trump has used the Rose Garden at the White House for major policy announcements, Medal of Honor ceremonies, impromptu press conferences and as a backdrop for Twitter videos, but on Friday the first lady will steal it for an evening of al fresco dining in honor of Australia.
Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison will be the second foreign leader honored with a rare state visit to the White House since Trump took office.
The day will begin with the military pomp of a South Lawn arrival, then the leaders will hold a one-on-one meeting in the Oval Office before more meetings with staff, a press conference in the East Room of the White House, and a lunch at the State Department. The day will end with dinner in a lavishly decorated and illuminated Rose Garden.
(snip)
Morrison also plans to travel to Wapakoneta, Ohio, on Sunday to tour an Australian-owned plant with Trump.
Trump and Morrison last met on the sidelines of the G7 summit in Biarritz, France.
Scott, he is fantastic, Trump said after their meeting.

The only way to properly eat outside is to use paper plates and plastic utensils. And hot dogs....maybe hamburgers. If they’re having steak, it’s allowable to use styrofoam plates. Ditto with ribs.
Roast kangaroo.
With all the trimmings!
That would be an excellent choice. There’s a store in the area that stocks all kinds of unusual meats, including kangaroo. All frozen of course.
I had ostrich steak once from a local restaurant. It was very good. Tasted and looked like beef.
Have to admit, first time I went to Outback Restaurant there were Joey Burgers on the menu. Yes I thought it was kangaroo meat. Wifey had a big laugh.
Who is this guy, Al Fresco?................
Lol
He must be important, he seems to be at a lot of dinners and luncheons........................
I love it that Australia is elevated to this level.
They should have a viewing of crocodile dundee, and the simpsons episode where they went to Australia...while the dhims are distracted going apesh*t bazonkazoids, rescind the rest of Obungholes executive orders
He seems to like the outdoor ones.
Menu
First course: Sunchoke Ravioli, Reggiano Cream, Shaved Summer Vegetables
Main course: Roasted Dover Sole with Parsley Crisps and Fennell Mousseline, Zucchini Squash Blossoms, Baby Garlic Rouille
Dessert: Lady Apple Tart, Calvados Ice Cream
Al Fresco is one of the waiters.
Sounds pretty, but light. Reads like Melania chose it. I would not eat baby garlic rouille. I bet Donald doesn’t either.
I’d take Dover sole every day.
He must be from Barcelona............................
Yes, I agree.
Real Dover sole is wonderful. Hopefully the rouille is on the side.
