Sen. Ted Cruz, the runner-up to Donald Trump in the bruising 2016 Republican presidential primary, revealed Thursday that he wants to someday mount another White House campaign.
“Look, I hope to run again,” the Texas lawmaker told The Christian Science Monitor. “We came very, very close in 2016. And it’s the most fun I’ve ever had in my life."

After what Cruz did to Trump at the convention and that nose droppings incident, I say “no way”.
And if he doesn’t get his way in the primary again, is he going to launch another coup against the rightful victor?

Cruz would be terrible.
So far Jim Jordan is the only one in politics today who can hold a candle to the MAGA/KAG agenda.
DeSantis would be good too but I want him to do 2 terms in Fla. first.

He barely held on to his Senate seat against Beto. Trump helped push him over the line. No way he could win the Presidency or the nomination.
Born here of citizen parents, anchor babies like Nikki Haley and Micro Rubio are not eligible, either.
Hiring Neil Bush outed Cruz as being solidly establishment. His conservationism is mostly branding, IMO. When the chips are down he is solidly GOPe.

This is why - to this day - we argue over eligibility issues.
Are you a US citizen over 35? Yes? Then you are eligible.
Born on American soil.....means just that....FROM DAY ONE....you will be raised under the umbrella of the Constitution. There was no requirement for two citizen parents.
I think he’d have a better chance of being VP. The candidate who takes over from Trump at the top of the ticket has not yet appeared on stage.

I haven’t followed him that much but I’d rather have him on our side and standing watch (SCOTUS) than running for an office he’s never gonna win.
From someone who voted for Cruz in the Presidential primary and several times for Senate, and has sent him hundreds of $ over the past decade I say: Don’t do it Ted!
Stay in the Senate, fight the good fight, and just hope that some GOP President nominates you to the SC.
Yes, you are a good articulator of Constitutional ideals — but — you’re just not likable, and your antics at the GOP Convention have tarnished you forever.
The children of foreign nationals are precisely who the founders were excluding by using natural born citizen instead of citizen at birth or native born citizen.
One cannot naturally be a citizen when born with other nationalities.

We get 5.5 more years of Trump and then we go back at best to mediocre and probably Oh Crap not a again!.

No it isn't. Precisely who they meant to exclude were citizens that moved here and became naturalized citizens. Parents have nothing to do with it.
