What law? Have they passed a law and has the Queen approved it? Last I heard they were still trying to get a law passed.

The law passed the House of Commons on Wednesday and the House of Lords yesterday. The British press says it will receive Royal Assent on Monday.

Then I guess we will see what the Queen does on Monday.

It would be strange if she granted allowed the suspension of Parliament to keep them from doing what they just did only to turn around and approve the law blocking leaving the EU.

Simple 40,000ft view.

The people voted for brexit, the elites and london liberals are blocking brexit.

The brexit deplorables are facing a defiant cohort of globalist ideologues aka their right honorable elected politicians who are literally betraying their electorate to appease a hostile foreign sovereign government.

Historic times.

Boris in prison will bring out a million or more protestors. Someone with a bullhorn will advise them to go home and stock up food and necessities for themselves, their elderly and infirm, and that from October the 31st the taxpayers stay at home and have a general strike, a holiday, a Delay in Reply, of indefinite length.

The People have the freedom to withdraw their money from The Banks, and their consumption from The Economy. More, they can organise a petition to force an immediate general election.

Just bring it, the same as the yellow vests, the same as in hong kong, and soon (i think) the same in the usa.

I hope he calls their bluff. Declare Brexit. Break the spell of the nation being in limbo, then move on from there. I seriously doubt they would throw him in jail for it.

This is what scares them, that Boris might just do this.

Parliament ends on Monday. Any pending legislation goes away. What if the Queen just notes that the legislation has expired?

"Oops, too late!"

“And the Prime Minister was today warned by the former Director of Public Prosecutions Lord MacDonald that he could face jail if he ignored the legislation.”

And how many divisions does Lord MacDonald command?

House of Lord’s did pass it. Now requires royal consent to become a law.

former Director of Public Prosecutions

Bluster by a former somebody. Maybe he can get Vicente Fox and Anthony Scaramucci and form a Task Force, or Panel of Inquiry or something.

Where is the choice to refrain from recommending royal consent mentioned?

I would be surprised if Boris didn’t announce that he had instructed the Queen to withhold her assent. Its the only way to square the circle of refusing another extension wholst remaining within the law.
