A rare exception was the despicable manner in which the Dems/MSM hounded Nixon out of office, primarily due to his successes in going after notorious communists.
The "exception" has become the RULE.

Maybe Boris should give these bastards their second vote a week before the deadline and when Brexit passes by an even wider margin there would be no stopping it. Risk yes but they are just going to keep finding ways to delay it otherwise.

Can he force a new election if he quits?

Of course, it’s not all down to Boris - to delay BRexit once again will require the consent of the rest of the European Union. I wonder whether Boris will have the bottle to ignore it? I suspect he realises that if there is another delay then the Conservative Party is history. (But then I suspect a significant number of his party’s MPs don’t actually care about that).

No.

There is no mechanism under the post-2011 legal regime to dissolve a Parliament that does not consent - by a 2/3 supermajority - to dissolve itself.

What law?

Have they passed a law and has the Queen approved it?

Last I heard they were still trying to get a law passed.

I don’t think he has the power to “delay Brexit.”

Seems like he could make it uncomfortable for the opposition by making them approve the EU payments and vote against a series of sovereign initiatives. If they don’t approve the payment then the EU itself will have to decide whether to expel Britain or simply accept Britain’s refusal to do so. Neither would be very appealing to the EU.

But now that the English people have been disarmed, defanged, and neutered; the ‘remainer’s’ have nothing to fear from the people.

The ultimate goal is disarmament is control.

According to the article there would be a new election if parliament couldn’t choose another PM with a majority:

“Mr Johnson had previously vowed he would rather be “dead in a ditch” than to further delay Brexit - with sources claiming that he would even be willing to resign as PM.

The nuclear move could force an election if a majority government could be not be formed.”

Boris needs to call their bluff, they can’t force him to ask for another delay.

He just has to strike a deal that mirrors ‘no deal’.

And bob is your uncle - no jail

The bill passed the House of Lords with a voice vote. Not sure why Boris didn’t as for the vote to be recorded. Maybe some kind of grand plan such has him resigning and no one can take the bill to the Queen before the deadline.

What about the criminals thwarting the will of the people by delaying Brexit? Brexit came first!

Exactly. Hammer out a deal that includes NO payments to the EU for the “privilege” of leaving and still cuts the cord on October 31. BoJo needs to be seen at least trying to get as good a deal on trade as possible for the UK. If the EU then rejects his deal, the blame is on them.

Not just the Dems. 6 out of 17 Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee also voted to impeach Nixon. Generally when a politician’s own party members turn on him, he’s guilty.

There is also the fact that he resigned rather than face impeachment proceedings. Now why would he do that if he had nothing to hide?

Nixon may have had some good policies, but that doesn’t change the evidence that points towards his committing impeachable offenses.
