Epstein, 66, was being held in the special housing unit of the Metropolitan Correctional Center in New York City and was supposed to be being checked on every 30 minutes per the jail’s procedure — but he wasn’t. He was also supposed to have a cellmate. “But a person who had been assigned to share a cell with Epstein was transferred on Friday, and — for reasons that investigators are still exploring — he did not receive a new cellmate, the person familiar with the matter said Sunday night. That left Epstein, who had previously been placed on suicide watch, alone and unmonitored — at least in the hours before his death — by even those officers assigned to guard him,” the Washington Post reports. Epstein’s cellmate prior to his most recent one was a hulking ex-cop, Nicholas Tartaglione, who has been charged with murdering four men in a cocaine conspiracy. Epstein is said to have feared him and the former Briarcliffe Manor cop was questioned following the pedophiles previous suicide attempt in July — which the financier said was actually an attack on his life.

For the average Joe, yes. But if Epstein was as smart as they say he was, he would have had layers of security. You might have been able to get close enough to shoot him. But not close enough to push him down a flight of stairs or mess with his car brakes, and then make it look like an accident.

I know you’re being silly. But, think on this, you’re a rich billionaire not used to protecting yourself. You go to jail for a crime that prisoners hate and punish.

The jailers stick you in a cell with a murderous muscle bound freak ex-cop. Even if he didn’t rape Epstein, he was quite capable of explaining how his life would be in prison. The torment that was coming (rape and beatings everyday). After the message was delivered, remove the murderous convict from the cell to provide alone time. Then never check the cell that night.

The noose was ‘accidentally’ left behind by the security camera repair guy who couldn’t quite figure our how to repair the broken camera with the view of this particular cell. And he also just happened to leave behind an apparatus to which the aforementioned noose could be securely attached. It’s just really bad luck. No ill ‘intent’ by anyone.
