There is a bar at the end of the runway called (the Casbah?)

You’ve never flown Micronesia :)
PSA flight crashed in downtown SD on approach circa 1980s They moved the approach over mainly houses. No where else to go. Let’s get Mira Mar and do it right for the next century
Flying in to San Diego is beautiful but unnerving.
I remember that.
Agreed- Terminal One reminds me of various third world airports I’ve traveled through. Perhaps those who rate these airports only were directed to Terminal 2.
True...
Yeah that’s my airport. Most of the terminals are really nice, good food, etc., and no matter how you want to get there BART, park and ride, taxi, it’s all pretty convenient. Occasionally, there’s traffic congestion trying to get into it by car.
I am surprised that LaGuardia doesn’t have potholes in the walkway aisles.
There are very few direct flights out of Pittsburgh anymore.
The Democrats who run this place built that huge, expensive airport to keep a USAir hub and convince them to employ people here forever and ever and ever.
Wasn’t too many years till USAir moved the hub to Charlotte, and now they’re gone.
But we’re still paying for the big White Elephant airport.
AND.....now they want to spend A BILLION DOLLARS to “right size” it because mean ol’ Corporate America isn’t ever going to bring a hub back here.
What I love about PIT is when you exit you have 2 choices...
Beaver, or Moon..
I do believe that PSA plane crashed after a mid air collision with a small civil av aircraft.
MSP us big, and you’ll see your share of raggies. But it’s a fairly clean and modern facility.
Similar story up here at Manchester, NH. It is so easy to fly in and out. The problem with MHT is the lack of long distance flights. The only flights are connecting to the bigger hubs like Chicago, Philly, Baltimore, Charlotte, Washington, Newark or Orlando.
My worst experience was May 2018 flying through LaGuardia.
They were rebuilding two of the terminals. So, to get to the other terminal you had to get on a bus that took you outside the airport into the borough of Queens. It took 45 minutes to get to the other terminal. Then we had to go through security again. It would have been a 10 minute walk if that. Plus, nobody at LaGuardia speaks the English language. I am serious. We ran to catch our connecting flight. They almost would not let us on the plane. Our first flight was not late either. We were the last two on the plane. Then we sat on the tarmac waiting at least a half hour for our slot to take off.
NEVER FLY THROUGH LAGUARIA.
So I'm sitting at the bar with a window view of the frenzy going on below in the ramp area as they loaded and unloaded planes coming and going. Had my Kindle, had my laptop and I was getting some serious spreadsheeting done as well as checking in here at Free Republic.
Pretty much all my flights have the same routine. I like to travel the night before so I can get settled in at the hotel at my destination before starting the workday. Always getting there at least 4 hours early (so I can empty my bladder after having those couple of tall ones).
Once in a while I get a flight delay but that's okay because I have my Kindle to read and I have a lot of books to read always. In 30+ years of flying, I have never had a bad experience. Never even had my luggage lost ever - although one time I thought I lost it because I was waiting on the wrong carousel.
Anyway, I'm just saying that air travel in the United States is a very wonderful experience and we are fortunate to have it.
Kanas City is awful , very outdated , lack of proper facilities. No fun getting off a full flight having to relieve oneself badly and waiting in line at a single urinal , toilet bathroom!! Pittsburgh and Cincinnati are very nice . LAX most aggravating- just a chaotic third world madhouse !!
