Video games. Why were there no mass shootings until the advent of video games in the late eighties-early nineties?
The real cause: the Deep State.
You beat me to it!
Mental health and copy cat actions
bump
shooter games made the shooters accurate. In, I believe that time period, here was a rash of robbery shootings by 14+- y.o. boys where clerks were shot center forehead from waist level. The military used some of those games to train close combat marksmanship until they developed their own systems.
Yeah. Before that, we bashed each other with pinball flippers.
Ultimately it is what/whom is in the individuals heart.
God is love.
Satan is hatin.
You have the choice on which one you let in. Choose wisely!
Absolutely. Did you read the manifesto, the reasons he gave for the shooting? Everything he wrote was designed to hurt Trump and now the left is going to once again run with this “Trumps fault Trumps fault, racism racism, white supremacy” for the next month and gee whiz, it happens right after the Democraps were doing horribly in the debates.
1966 U Tex tower shooter. Mental health. Not video games.
Tipper Gore was right. But I believe it is the deep states planning. What happened in Vegas still haunts me.
The real cause is traitorous people in our society who are trying to keep the scales of justice from catching them.
Austin 1966 (or 65) had one of the first mass shootings from the UT Tower.
I’m playing a video game right now.
I’ve played them since I was seven years old.
When am I going to be involved in a mass shooting on the perp end?
My friend George is the same way, but he likes to play and is an expert at first person shooters.
When is he going to be involved in a mass shooting on the perp end?
These are rhetorical questions, btw, because your theory is invalid.
What has changed is two things.
1. Life no longer has any value, and is not respected.
2. People are insane, and insane people are being pushed over the edge by politicians super charging politics with lies and hate.
That’s all there is to it, and it doesn’t have a thing to do with video games.
I would suggest three things that happened.
First, kids with issues were taken in the 1980s to mental experts, and prescribed medication. Not black kids, or girls....but mostly white boys. Go look at the statistics, virtually zero black boys/men in mass shootings, and if they do show up, it’s robberies and just one or two people shot.
Second, gaming took over in the 1990s, and is a central core to most of these mass shooters (not all).
Third, just about everyone who publishes some manifesto is on some Hitler-type got-to-change the world revolution. This is like going back to 1969 and the Tate murders in LA (with Charles Manson). If you had the same Charles Manson in today’s world, it would have been a mall massacre to start his revolution.
Add to the top of this....the news media and social media devices. They get your name and agenda to the top of lists.
Active denial of God.
Killing babies.
Rampant Pornography.
Destruction of marriage.
Normalization of perversion in multiple forms.
Rampant drug use
Destruction of national identity.
Emasculation of young males.
Education becoming indoctrination.
Destruction of hope
Financial slavery.
Constant saturation of propaganda.
Social Media.
etc.
Yeah. It’s video games...
Selfishness and self-absorption.
When there is no value to your own life, there's not likely to be much value in anyone else's. When there are no consequences to your actions, any action is permissible. When there's nothing beyond the immediate and you, there's no reason to be morally responsible.
Now add in the brain-altering "medications" many young men are on and you're sitting on a powder keg playing with matches.
re: “THE REAL CAUSE OF MASS SHOOTINGS”
Inadequate discouragement; not enough CCW ...
There was just a study publish that showed no link between video games and violence.
Try again.
How about a culture where everyone thinks their opinion mattersand then they get upset when they discover they dont. (I am NOT suggesting that about you P&Sbut thinking in general.)
