Prosecutors arent pursuing a criminal case against the dad who said he forgot he left his 1-year-old twins in a scorching car, where he found them dead after returning from work, according to a report.
Juan Rodriguez appeared in a Bronx courthouse, but the district attorney elected not to put the case before a grand jury at this time, according to WABC.
His next court date is Aug, 27.
Rodriguez was charged Saturday with two counts of manslaughter and two counts of criminally negligent homicide for the Friday deaths of tots Phoenix and Luna.

you are spot on. I guess they figure the guy’s gonna suffer enough.
We know a Family where the Grandfather left his Grandson in his Car when he went to Work and the Child died. He simply was on autopilot and it ended up being a nightmare for everyone involved.
The Family successfully petitioned the Authorities not to charge him. They were and are a Family of strong Christian values.
This happened over 20 years ago. The Grandfather lasted eight years before he died. He was depressed, miserable and his mental and physical condition rapidly deteriorated. He died at age 62.
As I said on a previous Post, Hell on Earth.
I find it difficult to understand.
Your judging others who are thinking of the horrendous fate of the children is the only claptrap on here. He stayed at work for 8 hours. That is a fact, not in dispute. Obviously he never gave a thought to the children he had agreed to take care of that morning duing 8 HOURS.
“All that’s needed for evil to truimph is for good people to do nothing.” There should have been a trial, at the very least.
I’m pretty sure if I did something like this, I’d end up jumping off a bridge or building within a month. I just wouldn’t be able to deal.
why?
There was an investigation and there was no reason to go to trial.
And they’ve investigated him... you just don’t like the conclusion. Not enough violent retribution for you?
He didn’t kill his children.
This happened also to a father I know and his 3 yr. old. He was on the dcck and she ran past him a bit into the lake, he just reached down and grabbed her before it might have been too late....he’s fully aware of what could have otherwise been.
Some of these cases have gone to trial. Why this one did not, I don’t know.
What investigation? Can you cite a news article stating whether they ran his computers and phone, including at work, his bank and credit card accounts, talked to his neighbors and co-workers, etc? If you can’t, your opinion is based on what?
I worked with someone whose wife, by negligence, caused an injury to their son where it was unlikely that he would ever be mentally 100%. The law was considering charges. The guy told us that no punishment including the death penalty could be as bad as what they lived with everyday and would continue to live with.
Car ‘accidents’ happen where people are killed. The result varies as to prosecution with those as well.
And women who have abortions don't kill their children either, right? /s
Article was changed: Prosecutors wont rush case against Juan Rodriguez in twins hot car deaths
A grand jury has not yet heard the manslaughter case...
Were still investigating,...
a grand jury could ultimately decide to indict
Big difference....one is planned the other is not....try again.
See post 72. Your faith in the justice system is awe-inspiring. /s
How do you forget for the entire day that you had your kids in your car? That’s what I just can’t wrap my head around.
No, no difference. In both cases, “society” is saying, “it’s ok. It’s not really murder.”
