I hear that e-scooters have caused a major increase in broken ankles, collarbones, wrists, etc. at our major in-town hospital. Surprise, surprise.
Is an e scooter like a smaller vespa, or is it one of those things you stand on like the kids used to have.
In the month following the arrival of electric scooters in my midwest city, my ER nurse friend told me 40 patients arrived at her ER in ambulances having suffered an injury accident on a rental scooter. City ordinance require scooters ride in the streets and not on the sidewalk. Helmets are not required. Recipe for disaster.
Wonder how long before the scooter vendors are held liable?
I hate those bleeping things, I always make a point to get well out of the way when I see one coming. Also have to constantly look behind me when I’m walking.
