I hear that e-scooters have caused a major increase in broken ankles, collarbones, wrists, etc. at our major in-town hospital. Surprise, surprise.

In the month following the arrival of electric scooters in my midwest city, my ER nurse friend told me 40 patients arrived at her ER in ambulances having suffered an injury accident on a rental scooter. City ordinance require scooters ride in the streets and not on the sidewalk. Helmets are not required. Recipe for disaster.

Wonder how long before the scooter vendors are held liable?

We have a boat in a marina in Ventura. Not far from us is the harbor town with shops, restaurants. etc. We have various ways of getting there....kayaks and a dinghy. I thought a couple of these e scooters would be a fun way to get around.....until I saw they had to be ridden on the street. Abandoned that idea real fast.
