When heavyweights collide, the impact is always colossal.
First, there's the anticipation, and for feverish excitement, no match at this Women's World Cup has yet to compare to Friday's quarterfinal clash between the US and France.
There is a reason why ticket prices have gone in the same direction as the mercury during this week's European heat wave.
This is the world's top-ranked team going head-to-head against the fourth best team in the world. The defending champion versus the host. An irresistible attack against an uncompromising defense. It is "Le Grand Match." It is a match that is helping propel women's football even further into the sporting mainstream.

I think your screen shot showing the difference between Men’s World Cup and Women’s World Cup is very informative. It is a reality check...
I am sure that a lot of people in Asia and Africa watched last year’s World Cup final between Croatia and France...They did not care that the game involved two European countries.
People around the world watched the UEFA Champions League final, although both teams were from England.
Ill continue to watch Gold Cup and Copa America games instead. (Argentina/Venezuela and Colombia/Chile tonight).

I think Argentina and Colombia will probably win...
“Nobody cares about soccer”
I don’t watch it but how do you deny that anyone cares about soccer when it’s the #1 most played sport in the world?
I just noticed the chik-fil-a logo on the french jerseys
Halftime France 0-1 USA
Right now France is going home.
(At least they dont have far to go)
“and are the only sober people here”
That’s not an incurable condition.
People around the world watched the UEFA Champions League final, although both teams were from England.

That is true...UEFA Champions League is very popular...
Both Liverpool and Tottenham had players from all over the world...Brazil, Denmark, France, and Korea...
Or I should say, the Trump-Hating Lesbo scored.

I turned off my TV several minutes after that. I did not like feel like listening to Fox Sports people...They were excited about how well Ms. Rapinoe played...
The name of the local gal I mentioned is Carli Snyder and she actually committed to Florida as a sophomore......

I do remember her playing in the semifinal game against Stanford many years ago. I am talking about NCAA Volleyball Tournament. In that game, Florida beat Stanford.
Doc Rivers is the coach for LA Clippers...His daughter played volleyball at Florida also...
I’ll cheer for France. But it isn’t like I’m going to watch women’s soccer anyways. More like I’ll smile a little if I see France has won.
U.S. was sharp early but has gotten sloppy. Too much long ball, too many shots from distance, France winning too many balls in midfield. We need an insurance goal. Or two.
IIRC, that year we lost to USC in the Finals.
We seriously need to keep possession better.
Id prefer the two USA-haters Rapinoe and Kreiger tear hamstrings.. then Ill cheer for the USA team.

About Ms. Kreiger...
She could have expressed her support for Ms. Rapinoe like this:
“I support my friend. She has strong opinions. However, she really cares about our country”.
Instead, Ms. Kreiger chose to accuse President of being a “groper” in her Twitter message...
That really annoyed me...Not her point about not visiting White House...I don’t care if she wants to stay home like Ms. Rapinoe...
That is the Gallic rooster. Chick-fil-A is probably right down there with McDonald’s in the French culinary mind.
Do you know what they call a Quarter Pounder in Paris?
IIRC, that year we lost to USC in the Finals.

I think that year Florida lost to Nebraska in the final game of the NCAA Volleyball Tournament...It was 2017.
GOOOOOL!!!! USA 2-0!
GO USA!
I only wish this dyke wasn’t the getting all the goals.
