This is California, remember. The Golden state is perched to become the first in the nation to ban discrimination based on unique hairstyles, mainly targeting blacks.
The measure, which has passed both chambers of the state legislature, could be signed by Gov. Gavin Newsom as soon as next week.
Its aimed at schools and workplaces where blacks say they have been pressured to abandon hairstyles traditionally a part of their culture and have been denied jobs and advancement when they did not adopt more Eurocentric styles of personal grooming.
The bill, if signed, would prohibit enforcement of personal grooming policies affecting disproportionately those of color, especially blacks. This includes prohibitions on certain hairstyles, such as braids, twists, Afros, cornrows and dreadlocks.

Basically a coincidence. “City on the Edge of Forever”, “Miri, Miri”, “Return of the Archons” (with Festival and Landru), and “A Piece of the Action” were the TOS episodes shot at the Forty Acres lot in Culver City, CA. The town on the lot also stood in for Mayberry in Andy Griffith and was also used for other TV shows. The far corner of it was used for “Hogan’s Heroes” (for doing outdoor shots of Stalag 13).

Nip it in the bud, Andy.
Does that helicopter fly???
I saw one guy with a big cone-shaped pile on his head that looked like someone had taken a cow patty and turned it on a potter’s wheel. It looked just as sanitary too.
The only discrimination allowed is against normal people who go to church and play by the rules.

Maybe not real long dreadlocks.
Those styles tend to keep the hair secured, out of the way from being caught in equipment, and more in place to not wind up in food.
Thanks. I didnt think about the possibility it was the same set.
Targeting blacks. Ooooh, that’s racist!
I don’t care what race you are, imo, your IQ loses points for every degree of ridiculousness your hair style is.
Pink, purple, orange or some other clown colored hair = loss of 50 IQ points.
Hasn’t been combed or washed in a month = 30 IQ points lost
Shaved in some wacko look at meeee! style = 60 points lost
Man bun = 100 points lost so shouldn’t be let out of the house
More than one flower and/or more than two barrettes = 20 points lost for each excess.
LGBTWHATEVER buzz on XX or long wig on XY = loss of all points.
And if it is a “black” business owner that wants to enforce company dress-code policies that happen to ban some certain hairstyles found mostly among “blacks”, would such a law still call that “discrimination”??? Or did the hypocrites who wrote the law include loopholes for such an occasion??
I can see where banning cornrows, braids, and twists, and even some varieties of Afros could be racially discriminatory, but dreadlocks are a hygiene issue, and probably more white people have them than black people. I know if I’m served by someone with dreadlocks, I tend not to go back to that establishment.
Exactly.
The government is conferring the right to sue for every perceived violation of their rights, however loosely they choose to interpret those rughts.
Ghetto blacks routinely claim housing discrimination when they’re told to turn off the earsplitting rap music.
