Gosh Gub...you are a sad guy. You've got to rethink what living in California has done to you. Have you always lived in California? Do you ever stop and think how much a smile or a simple..have a nice day can have an affect on someone? In a school yearbook of my son's..in the back was a page for 6 graders to write what they will remember most. One boy wrote...the smile and good morning Ms...K..gave me on my walk to the gym. It really helped me through the day.

Someone once told me...share your smiles and not be selfish. I'm also an Alfred Hitchcock fan..lol

I resemble that remark. My mother used to always say, if you don’t have any thymine to say, then don’t say anything. It’s not like I’m an ax murderer. I guess coming from a small town, it always took a while to accept new people who moved in(not that there were many). But even after years, they would always be somewhat of outsiders.

Yes, you are the person who is comfortable with silence. My brother would go for months without talking to anyone unless you talked to him first. A very interesting guy. He's the one who told me our last meeting...the one thing that could save your life is.....NEVER use your cell phone in public. You must always be aware of your surroundings. One of my favorite JM stories. Parents were lined up to pick up kids at a church function. Several pre-teens were in the front yard waiting to be dismissed. Up pulls a convertible and one young lady breaks from crowd yelling “Daaaad!” The others follow all yelling Dad. Parents of the group watch as he loads them all up (after getting their parents approval) takes them for a ride in his new car. Apparently he also treated to DQ cause they came back with treats. (Sure would have liked to see the wait staff when they realized who was paying the bill). To these kids he wasn’t super star. He was one of their friends dad and from the way he acted around them and they around him — loved. (Knowing the size of families his x and he were from they were probably all cousins.)
