By way of clarification:
communism - bunch of hippies, voluntarily banding together to share from each according to his gifts to each according to need. Inefficient, but depending on fervor, allows for ascendant ability....maybe
socialism - enforced redistribution from each according to what the state provides to each according to what the state decides. VERY inefficient, no allowance for ascendant ability...definitely. The ussr was a socialist republic...no one gets in or out.

Socialism is the thin edge of the wedge to bring in full-blown communism, which is V E R Y closely related to a certain “ism” that killed MILLIONS in the 1930s and 1940s.

This isn’t a problem at the state or local level. She can screw it up as long as other states don’t bail them out. We have had these crazy experiments with radical socialism even in 19th century; New Harmony IN was s big flop.
The problem is at the federal level because these people are always telling everyone that disagrees with them how to live. That’s why no matter what we have to try to limit federal power, which in my view is impossible by usual means,
Jailing someone like this is also wrong because what she’s doing is legal if she has the votes, and sedition or treason is an attempt to overthrow government by illegal or violent means. So what you’re doing here is imposing your will on someone that wants to do something stupid at the state level. Not take up arm against the government.
Now if her brand of communism call for a suspension of BOR, I would think that most would simply leave for another state, but others that wished to stay could fight and ask for federal help to restore individual rights.
She's declared herself to be a "democratic socialist," but apparently not a Democrat or a Communist.
