Balanced late-night political perspective was the victim. But it was obvious they were gunning for him for other than ratings, since he had the ratings.
made me smile this morning. What makes you smile in the morning? A saline solution enema?
Obama is hate. It amazes me people still don’t get this. And he hates America unless it’s turned into something of his creation. His disgusting wife has said she was only proud to be American until Obama was elected president.
I recall this one from Leno: If Jesus were to come back now and see everything done commercially in his name, he’d start throwing up and never stop.
His disgusting wife has said she wasn’t proud to be American until Obama was elected president.
bump
I’d wager that he’s right.
Nonsense. He wanted to leave. Not everything is politics.
I heard aliens were landing soon. I got it from an email. Should I post it?
What time is he on?
I like 17 year old single malt enemas. How do you do it?
But hes a regular on Tim Allens Last Man Standing, which tends to make me think hes been welcomed into the equal opportunity potshot club. Full disclosure: I LOVE LMS.
When? When it was first announced that O’Brien would be taking over the show? Or months later, when they announced that Jay would have a new 10 pm show after he stepped down? Or when O’Brien said he’d leave if they pushed Leno back to 11:35 and O’Brien after midnight? Or, maybe after all that and the Olympics when they brought Leno back with a new theme song, etc., and he had low ratings then? (Yes, I do believe he wanted to leave at that point!)
Why am I not surprised?
Did Leno write those himself? Either way, theyre pretty good.
I don’t recall him ever telling an Obama joke. He told an occasional joke which featured Obama, but never one where the joke was pointed at him. I must have quit watching too soon.
In his later years, his monologue got quite trite and expected until his writers went on strike. He was funny until they came back.
"The likeable, lantern-jawed comic has long been known for avoiding edgy political material. But in recent months, Leno has turned considerably more political, making pointed jokes aimed at Democrats, liberals and President Obama.
A monologue last month was typical: President Obama says hes renewing his efforts to close Guantanamo Bay. Guantanamo Bay? How about closing the IRS? How about that?
Thunderous applause. Lenos never been better.
Indeed, virtually every night now, he has something sharp and funny to say about Obama and the big-government Democrats in Washington.
Theyre not used to being the butt of jokes that sting or that ridicule the lefts absurd PC culture wars.
But thats just what Leno did last April when he riffed on his show: The Associated Press, the largest news gathering outlet in the world, will no longer use the term illegal immigrant. That is out. ... They will now use the phrase undocumented Democrat.
A two-fer, liberals and the media. Ouch.
The irony and its a rich one is that Leno has never been more dominant, Newsweek said recently. The Nielsen ratings for the second week in July have him beating CBSs David Letterman by a 43% margin in the all-important viewers 18 to 49 category ... and swamping ABCs Jimmy Kimmel by a crushing 75%.
Irony? Leno has 3.3 million viewers, vs. 2.6 million for Letterman and 2 million for Kimmel. Leno, as Newsweek further notes, has led all competition for 17 seasons out of the 21 hes hosted The Tonight Show.
Ordinarily, such powerful ratings would be rewarded with a lengthy, multimillion dollar contract and a public attaboy from the network. So why are they axing Leno and replacing him with Jimmy Fallon next February?
Could it be Hollywoods left-leaning power players want to clip his wings? Or is it that, unlike Leno, Fallon fawns over the liberal elite as he did during an embarrassing on-set visit from Obama, who lost more than a little presidential dignity by joining in on unfunny skits.
Replacing a winner with the so-far unproven Fallon doesnt seem to be a brilliant business move. They tried it four years ago with Conan OBrien. It flopped.
If the solidly centrist Leno is now too controversial for the lefty executives that run the networks, maybe hell find a new job waiting for him next year on Fox TV.

Geez, calm down. Are you Jay’s mother?
Nothing of the like—but no reason for you to be trashing him out of ignorance.
