Last summer, a Russian man was strolling along the shore of the local Tirekhtyakh River in Yakutia when he came upon a grisly sight: the severed head of an ancient wolf. The head had been well preserved by the permafrost and still sported a full head of hair and sharp fangs.
The man, Pavel Efimov, handed the ancient head over to scientists, who dated it to over 40,000 years ago, or the end of the Pleistocene epoch, according to The Siberian Times. Their analysis also revealed that the wolf was fully grown and was between 2 and 4 years old when it died. [Image Gallery: 25 Amazing Ancient Beasts]

I got no problem with that.
I am not in favor of indiscriminate slaughter of wildlife, but if there is human death and suffering at the interface between humans and animals, I am generally in favor of humans at the expense of animals.

I photographed a wolf in one of Italys national parks. And his head was nowhere as large as this wolves head, not even close. And I thought that wolf was a very large animal that I photographed. He turns out to be a mere child next to that head.

That’s the quote my dad used to teach us our responsibility to walk and feed the dogs. He was not a hunter except at the Bulge!

Just discussed whether a little boy currently in love with plastic dinosaurs would be frightened of this real ancient wolf head? It resembles in scale those creepy looking monsters.

Only thing is he taught us to think for ourselves, lol. To his dismay, I became an atheist in final year of religious training. Lucky for me, our religion loves a good argument on the topic so dad took the attitude it was a phase that would pass and didn’t get upset.
