A Florida man was bitten by his Jaguar.
Theodore Levy, 81, lost his right thumb after it was caught in the door of his $96,000 vehicle, which includes a soft close feature with a history of problems, according to a lawsuit.
Levy watched in horror as the door pulverized the bone structure in his digit, and left his thumb a shadow of what it used to be

For REAL masochists, theres now an all-electric Jaguar I-pace, direct competitor to the Tesla X. The I-pace can cut off even more body parts!
That makes two of us BUT mine wasn’t an accident.
Part of my ‘safety training’ if I take 2 ice cubes together, I have boiling water standing by in case one gets lodged.
Be interesting to see if the cure is ‘worse’ than the problem.
Yes, it isn’t easy being me....<: <: <:
You should be. 90% of that ice cube is underwater!
The ice cube you swallowed is probably stuck in your intestine in a frozen state. You need to drink at least a half a gallon of very warm H2O while in a standing position and then take a nap for at least one hour. The cube should be melted by that time and passing out of your body.
If not passed in an hour, repeat the above instructions with slightly warmer water and again lie down for a hour. If no results by that time, call 911 and to to emergency room of local hospital for emergency surgery to remove the solid piece of rock imbedded in your intestine.
Good luck... let us folks at FR how this works out for you!
I test drove a Jaguar diesel a year ago...I liked it a lot.But I decided against it because of their reliability record and their resale value.
Dr. Nick, I presume.
What did he expect for a hundred grand $$$? Had he been less chintzy he could have got an extra cost option that wouldve amputated his entire arm? /s
Presumably made of pure deadly di-Hydrogen monoxide.
It still makes

Looks like it created a new one.
Lmao
I once took my neice and her father for a flight in a Cessna 172 when she was four. I saw her fingers grabbing the door frame just as I closed the passenger door. She pulled her hand in and just stared at it; all of the fingers were still in place but there was a sharp pain.
To this day it makes me think of how different her life would’ve been had I used a little more force when closing.
Sorry for this guy.
I knew a guy that had the transplant done in Australia in the mid 70s. Called it his thoe.
Good example of “intelligent” features being very dumb. Good example of people putting too much faith in “intelligent” features. It’s a bleeding computer program! It’s not intelligent!
His suit has no merit. The door works that way. Next time don’t put your thumb in it.
I’ve caught my fingers in a closing car door before...car didn’t even have a soft-close feature. Apparently, it DID have a hard-slam feature, though.
Who do I sue?
BMW bought Land Rover/Jag after Ford.
Theyre pretty amazing cars now. I drive the big Range Rover with the 580hp engine. All Ive ever done is have the oil and filters changed.
Pretty amazing vehicles. Pretty.
But you pay for it.
