Democrats created the dystopian nightmare that is California
Washington Times ^ | Tammy Bruce

It takes a lot of resilience to look over one’s shoulder at California. We Americans are a proud people and love our country. We know we’re wildly imperfect, but we also have seen our country overcome difficulties to become a more perfect union.

California, not so much.

One glance at the formerly Golden State is a frightening embarrassment. The latest indictment of liberal leadership is the trash heap of Los Angeles. Literally. Despite the emergence of louse-borne typhus, Los Angeles can’t seem to get its act together.

Steve Lopez of the Los Angeles Times reported a week ago on the obscene condition of downtown Los Angeles, “A mountain of rotting, oozing, stinking trash … stretching a good 20 yards along a skid row alley. Rats popped their heads out of the debris like they were in a game of Whac-A-Mole, then scampered for cover as a tractor with a scoop lurched toward them. … The trash problem is not confined to any one street, but this particular location on the 800 block of Ceres Avenue is surrounded by food distribution companies that sell to shoppers, vendors, stores and restaurants. I counted seven within a block, so you have to wonder — given the colonies of football-size rats — about the potential contamination of the food supply chain and the spread of disease.” What does the city say when confronted about the slow, or nonexistent, pace of cleanup?

A “spokeswoman for the city Department of Public Works said the backlog on service calls for trash pickup around homeless encampments sits at just under 8,400 currently. … ‘If it’s a homeless encampment, it’s a lengthier process because humans are involved and we have to meet certain protocols,’ she said, including a survey of who’s there, an inventory of personal property and

AAHHH....... “the homeless encampment. “

The huan detritus in question are in point of fact not homeless. They are encamped in tents.

They are in fact squatters. They have homes.

LOL , sounds like a comedy sketch.

Spokeswoman for the city Department of Public Works said....
“we have to meet certain protocols,’ she said, including a survey of who’s there, an inventory of personal property and notice of a cleanup,”

Make no mistake. These urban enclaves of decadence reflect a sinister reality. Americans no longer share a reasonable social consensus based on shared values and beliefs. Historically this has been the predicate for civil war in virtually every civilization ever studied.

Californicator (and other RAT-infested shite holes) are following Venezuela right down the socialist crapper.....like lemmings to the sea. Then, they’ll be begging the rest of us to “bail em out” as usual.

Sensational reporters looking for clicks from stupid people.

They equate LA and SF with California. Some of these reporters have never been to CA. Many who give them clicks have not either.

Is Virginia DC? Texas Houston?

And Maryland = Baltimore.

Idiots all.

It’s our own fault. We off shored all the manufacturing jobs that used to keep most cities viable. It apples to small and mid-sized cities too. Cities are now economic deserts which creates poverty and dystopia.....

You haven’t seen rich until you’ve been to CA. They do not and will not need a bailout.

Anywhere democrats are in charge is a decaying nightmare. They show just how much they “really” care when they are in charge.

The basis of all totalitarian (especially Marxist) systems is to convince you that you’re not an individual but rather a small part of the huge mass of ‘undifferentiated being’.

This means your individual autonomy, convictions, ethics, property, etc. are worthless and unnecessary. That you continue to strive for these things and continue to value them is anathema and Liberals label you ‘selfish’.

Once totalitarian leaders achieve this, YOU will be completely in their power.

That pile of trash is my personal property! if you touch it I'll sue.

It is important to realize that these homeless colonies are a planned and intended result, not a side effect.

Most of these conservative articles take the position that “The Left should be embarrassed at what they have done to our cities.” They aren’t embarrassed. They are trying to destroy our cities, our culture, and all respect for our way of life. Tent squatters are just one tool of many.

To them, a mountain of garbage in L.A. is a job well done - a step closer to the Revolution.

Simplistic myopic quarterly thinking.

Business desire to make more money

They were making muse right here. Before 1980 almost everything was made in the USA.

Unions

Unions are dead. Less than 7% of the private sector workforce is in a union. Yesterday's boogey man

Government taxes/regulations

Taxes and regulations have been significantly lowered.

Energy is now almost dirt cheap in the USA.

I don't know who I hate worse the Free Traitors™ that created the problem or the socialists that capitalized on it. Hard choice.

The dems created the housing shortage in Los Angeles when they welcomed the illegals, that past 50 years. Illegal folks partner up and live 3 to 4 families per rented or owned home in this city. That drove up the price of homes and apartments. There isn’t a shortage of jobs here. It’s a hell-hole and I know that first hand. I work in downtown Los Angeles and I commute downtown on the train. It’s a liberal dystopia, to be sure.

San Francisco and LA are major tourists centers - one of the reasons they used to be pristine. You don’t take your tourist centers and turn them into sh*tholes without destroying the entire state’s reputation.

Perhaps, but Victor Davis Hanson is a long-time CA resident who writes about its sad decline.
