You know what would reduce the number of deaths? Require every employee to carry a gun. You cannot prevent a person from going nuts, but you can prevent them from killing as many as they might otherwise. Knowing they would be perforated after their first or second victim would be a deterrent to some.
Ban guns and the nut will use a different weapon. But if everyone else is armed, it wouldn’t matter, the attacker would be just as dead.

Under no circumstances were you to carry a firearm on their property.

The Communists Dimocratic Party of Socialist Amerika NEVER misses an opportunity to take away our guns. The ONLY people that will have them taken away are the law abiding citizens who bought them legally in legal gun stores, signed all the paperwork required by federal and state law, and those of us who carry, also paid once again to have a carry permit, which is our right, yet the government gets their yearly funds off us. HOWEVER, ALL the crooks, criminals, dimocrat voters, etc., do not purchase their guns legally, they steal them, buy them the underworld crime gangs, etc., who the government has no record of those guns, will continue to have their illegal guns, so they can rob and murder us, illegally by the way, using the illegal guns. I listened to the account of the person that barricaded in an office with 20 others and I’m thinking if they had a gun and someone the gunman managed to enter, they would not be sitting ducks.
Yet, they heard all the gun fire and could do nothing.
