have you tried Mad Men or House of Cards? I find the Scandinavian shows mostly alright, but that Icelandic show about a woman and a refugee woman, stinks.
I liked House of Cards, but then the male Prez of the United States started making out his male secret service agent:
I don’t mean a couple pecks —which by itself would have been gross— I mean a full-on, heavy-duty pre-coital make-out sesh.
It was so disgusting I had to just quit right then.
Right after that a whole bunch more Kevin Spacey boy-rapey stories came out, and I felt validated.
Too bad cuz I thought up to that point it was pretty good.
Occupied and Nobel were favorites.
It was good until the last two seasons.
I fast forward through the dreck
Although his homosexuality made a point of how bent the character was.
she had work done 3-4 years ago and it messed up her face. She already had an unusual look I found sensuous. Now I don’t see any attraction.
I’m not impressed by her portrayal as the evil puppet master. Watched three episodes, may watch more if I get bored.
Watched BBC Melodrama, Dr. Foster season 2 last night. No excuses, it is five hours of my life I will never get back.
I liked Occupied and Nobel.
I’ll throw in vote for Killing Eve Two seasons done may have to stream.
My wife and I have the last 2 episodes to watch. I told her it seemed like we were watching a soap opera. I like the main story line and the pyscho doctor sub plot, but the gay stuff adds nothing to the plot other than to normalize it. Good thing they have the ability to fast forward through those parts. Although it was a bit entertaining when they got high on mushrooms.
A vote for Killing Eve too. Good writing.
I LOVED Occupied..!
That was very, very good.
Hell On Wheels is great. Other really good series are Frontier, Taken, Valor and Red Road.
I am waiting for the next season, although it was approved last year.
nothing on the net on when it will come to netflix though.
I just finished The Way We Live Now on Prime. Its a serialized story in six episodes. Well done, excellent cast, interesting characters. Its set in Victorian England, 1870s, and is an Anthony Trollope satire about that age.
Of course, nothing can match whats playing out on Jeopardy right now! Hope youre all watching!
Going way out on a limb here and sacrifice my virility to recommend Netflix “Something in the Rain” —a Korean chick flick about romance between a 20 something guy and a 30 something woman. Actors are infectious, plot somewhat complex and 16 long episodes. But a great cast and opportunity to observe Korean culture dealing with common human experience is well worth watching.
Thanks for the tip!
The series' premise is that Lucifer is not the source of evil in the world. People do their own evil, so if Lucifer reconciles, it would not change the level of evil in the world. He is merely the warden of Hell, in charge of supervising the punishment of sinners. It was a job he grew bored with, walked away from, and he opened a night club in LA, which is what Season 1 opens with.
In the series, he's portrayed as a rebellious son, who decided to live of life of the spoiled playboy Prince, and who is overdue to do some growing up, which he finally starts doing in the last season.
I will look for it.
I know.
but on a theological basis...
Highly recommended.
I'm also watching it a second time because I had the wrong impression of the main characters at first. Won't give away more than that but there's quite a plot twist.
I also thought the cinematography and its depiction of rural Texas was first rate.
