I love the "gate open" picture! And thank you for all your encouragement. Let me share a favorite of mine, a gift from Mrs. Kit during my Cavalry days. She still gets yellow roses for the trooper's wife.

A painting by Don Stivers called "Medal of Honor". I'm still not sure why this touches me, or who I identify with. The sergeant on the left grabbing the colors? The unfortunate Soldier who bore the guidon? The officer on the right? I've been all those things on my ride.

It's just a painting you can look into and feel so many emotions.
