I know I won’t be alive to witness this, but all the right winger adventurous types will reach to the stars and all the lefties will stay here...a thousand years will pass and the right wingers will return and be thought of as gods.

I figured that once they had Scottie back, he came up with scrubbers for the warp drive. ;-)

Let the aliens vote.
Not the illegal mexican ones; the Martian ones.
I’m sure they will want universal health care, and free college.

Lump of coal in space is “space wilderness” now.
Soon they will claim they channel extra terrestrial beings and their wishes

These people take themselves very, very seriously.
They are so much wiser than you or I.
Just ask them. They’ll tell you.

How about Don getting the guys working on the alien tech to pick up the pace so us normal people can go elsewhere.
Assuming that the alien stuff exists.

Use up Saturn’s rings in 100 years? That’d be quite a mining operation. Saturn’s rings are estimated to be (1.54 ± 0.49)×10^19 kg.
Saturn’s rings are expected to “rain out” onto the planet anyway, in 100 million to 300 million years, IIRC.

They are too early to the party.

Would cost more to go and get it than what the stuff they want is worth.

or take care of them yourself Another solution looking for a problem.
Mining in space is even on the horizon.
Until the cost of lifting material in to orbit falls dramatically the economics of mining in space is just unrealistic.
I dont care what the commodity is, it is just not possible to make a profit now mining in space.
Well, maybe if they found a nearby asteroid with a rich deposit of unobtanium it might be worth it.
