I remember one time Rex said he has 3 fairly young daughters & another "real" job, but he posts ALL the time & does a lot of research for his posts. They actually get down in the water and dunk themselves. I try to to fill it every day or every other day. The owner of Maxiimum Security has file a lawsuit in Federal court.

The lawsuit, filed by Gary and Mary West in U.S. District Court in Frankfort, Ky., claims the horse racing stewards who disqualified Maximum Security acted outside the bounds of the statutory authority delegated to the Kentucky Horse Racing Commission. The lawsuit also argues the disqualification order was deficient under the law and an abuse of discretion that violated the owners' procedural due process.

“The insubstantiality of the evidence relied on by the stewards to disqualify Maximum Security, and the bizarre and unconstitutional process to which plaintiffs were subjected before and after the disqualification, are the subjects of this action,” the lawsuit states.(Churchill Downs held up letting the owner see the tape of the race)

The lawsuit also argues that the betting public was adversely impacted by the disqualification. Furthermore, it states the owners, trainer and jockey for Maximum Security “were denied any part of the $1,860,000 share of the Derby purse as well as a professional accomplishment that any horseman would cherish for life, plus the very substantial value that a Kentucky Derby winner has as a stallion.”

Plaintiffs are seeking the Derby win and purse, as well as counsel fees, costs of suit, "and such other and further relief as the court deems fair, just and proper."

NIKK..They also penalized the jockey and he hasn't been able to ride any horses since the race. His penality doesn't run out UNTIL after the Belmont. Which is the last leg of the Triple Crown.

My husband and I have attended MANY races at Churchill Downs through the years and if/when there's an inquiry the stewards Call it immediately after a race and if its a jockey inquiry it rarely ever holds. And the stewards did not call foul after the Derby Race.

Yes. My heart is broken. I left these neighbors a note (we live on 8 acres so I had to walk 1/2 mile to their mailbox). Anytime I see their dogs on my property I will call the sheriff and fire my weapon. Into the ground. I hate firing the gun because the birds then tell their children and they avoid me. But it works on the dogs. Their other dog is a pit. She has chased my husband on his bicycle. Not cool.
