On 4/19/2019 I posted a thread asking Freepers which generation they belonged to. The thread was an attempt to satisfy my curiosity regarding the generational breakdown of FR because I have gotten the sense that most of us are rather long in the tooth.
Naturally, as a 20-year member of this esteemed site, my hope is that it will ultimately start attracting younger members in order to continue the critical job of spreading the conservative perspective to new generations.
I received 389 responses to my original post, of which 219 actually provided information regarding respondents' birth year or generation.
Here are the results:

Gen Xer with two staunchly conservative Gen Y kids. They get their news from everywhere but are smart enough to smell BS when presented with it.

The huge antiwar movement disappeared along with the draft. Not a coincidence. The 18 year old vote was in 71. Draft ended and draw down of US troops began in 73. As usual, many things coincided to bring an end to the demonstrations.

The draft lottery had a quieting effect as well. You knew early on your chance getting picked or not. I was in that first lottery, 1969.
Nixon began planning for ‘Vietnamization’ about then as well, turning more of the combat role over to ARVN soldiers, which also reduced the number of Americans subject to being drafted.

I used to check out The Donald, but that was before he was elected. I found 4chan and 8chan interesting back when they were doxxing antifa.

I think going to a weekend long orgy in 1969 pretty much cemented the generations fate. And now you guys are all running up there in August for the 50th anniversary. I hope you all keep your clothes on this time.....Please!!!!!

I always wondered how long a “generation” was. Apparently it varies.
Boomers - 18 yrs
GenX - 11 yrs
GenY - 18 yrs
GenZ - 23 yrs and counting

No, it’s funny. I used to resent my parents for it. Then I became one and suddenly they weren’t so stupid after all.
I await the same epiphany in my offspring.

I guess it depended on the adults one was around. We had dinner "debates" and more than encouraged to be up on politics, the news, and other topics, but you DID have to know what you were talking about, or my father would very quickly shut you done and up, if you weren't!
OTOH...yes, we did NOT argue with out parents or other adults and respected authority. And though Dr. Spock's book became "THE" thing to follow after WW II, War Babies WERE spanked!
