FULL TITLE: Woman Gets Uber Driver Fired For Refusing To Take Her To Get An Abortion. Now She's Looking To Sue Him.
A 20-year-old college student in upstate New York reported an Uber driver for refusing to take her to get an abortion. According to the womens account, which was reported on by Yahoo! Style (UK), the ride-sharing company canned the pro-lifer.
But now the woman is looking to take legal against the driver.
Im in college in upstate NY and I dont have a car on campus because its expensive, she wrote in a message posted to Reddit earlier this month.
Im 20 years old and I found out I was pregnant and subsequently decided I wanted an abortion because Im in no position to care for a child, the woman said.
She found a clinic about an hour from her university, because the nearby Planned Parenthood had a schedule that didnt work for her. Because I dont have a car, I rely on Uber and [L]yft to get me places, she said.
The student then recounted her interaction with the Uber driver, who attempted to dissuade the woman from choosing abortion before telling her he could not drive her to the clinic.
My appointment was at 11:30am so at 9:58am my Uber arrived and he immediately seemed uncomfortable. After about five minutes in the car, he asked, are we going to a planned parenthood? I said no (because we werent), but it set off alarm bells that he would even ask that, she recounted. The destination I put in was just the name of the doctor and the address of the clinic, there was nothing that would suggest it was an abortion clinic. After a few more minutes he asked, are we going to an abortion clinic?

If you are in no position to care for a child, stay out of the position to get pregnant.
“Yes but the driver offered to drive her home.”
AFTER dumping her off in the middle of nowhere.
“but not sure what grounds you have for suing someone for refusing to take you there to get it...”
Contact law. He accepted the assignment and then broke the contract.

I'd say probably because it makes it easier to play the holier-than-thou card or rationalize attacks against Prolife people. The pro-abortion side always lays the same accusation yet for some reason never seems to acknowledge that the care of a child SHOULD be the responsibility of those who recklessly conceive the human being. Nevertheless, there are miles long waiting lists of couples who would gladly adopt the child and lovingly provide all he/she needs. Such an argument is a COP-OUT and it's embarrassing that a so-called Conservative would make it!
“Did you hug your kid today” has been replaced by “Have you murdered your kid today”
I read in another article that he dropped her off at some type of retail business, and had to wait for a short while for another ride. I thought uber drivers were basically self employed. They can refuse a rare if they want, but their destination is agreed to up front.
These things do happen!
Women demand to murder their children and then demand that others are forced to help them.
Most women in the west are really horrible people.

And hoping for a lawsuit lottery jackpot to get some $$ out of it!
She doesn’t have a close friend who could drive her? Certainly there’s another college student with a car who doesn’t mind helping kill babies.
I guess you'll be blaming him for looking for a pay phone, too.
BS.
Why do you presume they don’t?
If the person you are suing has no money, you are not going to get much.
He did NOT *kick her out*.
He stopped at a gas station and antique store and waited while she called for help.
He offered to take her back home and she REFUSED.
I'm not buying much of the new story.
Mr holier-than-thou sits in condemnation of everyone he does not agree with, which is 99% of FRdom.
So sad that woman didn’t talk to anyone and get a different perspective on her pregnancy. Somehow in her forties she became pregnant and would have had a child. Now thanks bizarre ideation that stems from our hedonistic culture, she instead had her baby killed. Doubt she will ever experience the joy of being a mother and how different and better her life would have been. You did absolutely nothing wrong. I’ll bet your only regret is that you did not know she was pregnant. Otherwise you probably would have offered her assistance and would have given her that better, life affirming perspective.
