Doesn’t sound like they thought he was a palestinian...
That’s my understanding...the was a “region” called Palestine but it was never a country and didn’t have a discreet population of people.

Well, at one point there was a Roman province called “Syria Palestine”, but that’s about it. Even that was created after all the major events in the Bible were over with, so you can’t make an argument that they are calling it by the historical name it was associated with at the time.

I was petty good at geography and had trouble understanding why I could not place Palestine, so I decided to look up it's Constitution, to find out if it had a President, Premier, Shah, or what kind of a leader it had, and read how it was set up.
I couldn't find out anything about Palestine because it never existed.
It is a fictitious country used to beat Israel over it's head for oppressing non existent Palestinian people. - Tom

Palestine is a region. The Hebrew word is “Philistia” where we get the Philistines.
