They are totally fake and filled with intended malicious manipulation.
Steve, you don’t go to Saint Marks Cathedral, do? The “not who we are” quote is pure Episcopalian, a church I chose to leave 20 years ago. My particular parish liked to use “that’s not what we’really about”, another stupid, over-used bit of nonsense!
