Steve, you don’t go to Saint Marks Cathedral, do? The “not who we are” quote is pure Episcopalian, a church I chose to leave 20 years ago. My particular parish liked to use “that’s not what we’really about”, another stupid, over-used bit of nonsense!

I am not a regular churchgoer, but on Easter I went to St Mark’s CATHOLIC church in Shoreline, north of Seattle. The congregation is probably 70% minority, most of them Filipino. It is a rarity in the Seattle area - a traditional Catholic church.
