Folks dressed very nicely. Even in poor neighborhoods

    A nation preparing for war. You can see the formation of Navy sailors marching down one of the sidewalks. At that time, Hitler had pretty much all of mainland Europe and was (at the time) chewing up Russia. England still stood alone.

    This is film shot by tourists. New York had all of those back in 1941 but I doubt they were of much interest to those shooting the film.
