Nasa believes drilling up to six miles (10km) down into the supervolcano beneath Yellowstone National Park to pump in water at high pressure could cool it.

Right...pump in lots'a water. Then the drill hole collapses, the water is sealed in and heated to steam, which explodes through the crust and activates the supervolcano eruption that takes out about 23 states... right...

The hole doesnt need to collapse. Water is H2O. What happens when hydrogen comes into contact with super hot gasses and magma?

One hell of a huge explosion. That hole will simply be an avenue for the explosion.

These people are scientists?

More..one would think these dumb asses would study some of the other incidents. like Krakatua where sea water got into that system which triggered the eruption.

Yup. Just leave it be. Sounds like a nice heating pad for the bison and elk to sleep on in winter.

Sounds like the idiots that made the Centralia, PA coal fire worse...not to mention the idiots who started it to begin with.
