God Bless Your Mom. I hope she has many, many good years ahead of her.
I just lost my beloved Dad, at 94, a heavily-decorated WWII Combat Engineer, Pltn Sgt, Vet of D-Day, Central Europe, France, Rhineland, Ardennes, Battle of The Bulge, Bastogne. He was shot by a nazi sniper dragging men from his platoon from a bloody snowfield, when they were caught in a machine gun ambush.
He drove his MB-300C daily, to do all his errands, shopping etc, right up until 2 days before he died, from a stroke, and was my hero.

I’m the same age and I still periodically watch the election night coverage on youtube. It was the greatest night of television ever and I will never tire of watching the smugness melt into despair.

That's a Generation we won't see again.
Sniper round went thru his right arm, thru chest and out left arm, missing all bones, arteries, veins etc. His VA RN in VA was the girl he went to HS in York, PA, married her, and had me and my younger sister, in 1949 and 1951.
I was robbed and shot in 1975, in West Palm Bch, w/ .32cal, coming out of Tropical Acres Steak House in Boynton Bch; same deal, missed all my arteries, veins, bones and spinal column. I still have the 7x10" x-ray from S. Miami Hospital Trauma Unit, and 2 others from York Hospital/ PSU-Hershey Med Ctr, of the bullet.
I had them matted & framed for years in my NYC Rock Ctr offices, and they were quite conversation pieces.

She was a 2nd LT in the Women's Army Nurse Corps, as well as an RN for 43yrs, passed on May 2, 2012. Dad passed on Oct 26, had a flag folding ceremony Oct 13, 2018, 21-gun salute, and 4 A-10 Thunderbolt "Warthog" flyover.
