A "life hack" phrase that describe any hacks, tips and tricks that get things done quickly by automating, increase productivity and organizing (formerly called a "good ideas."
Examples: putting soap and water in a blender and turn it on to clean it. Heating a cup of water in the microwave to loosen the food. Using a shoe as a cupholder. (Millions of things you can do with duct tape).
I believe the older generation probably had many of these, particularly for home remedies.
Which "life hacks" can you recommend?
Put sprigs of rosemary in your fruit bowl to keep fruit flies away.
Nasal irrigation with those neilmed bottles, add 1-2 packs of the salt they give you, and add a few drops of apple cider vinegar to the full bottle. Do this at the first sign of respiratory, like a sore throat, 2x a day. Along with sleep, this will keep the virus out of your life. You wont come down with it. I just learned this, this winter.
When you putty knife disappears - and it will - use a paint stir-stick in many cases.
I don’t know about that shoe-as-a-cupholder one...

Duct tape? Some of us are from the era of bailing wire. You can weld with it, make hose clamps, and even use it to light a cigarette. lol

A friend has a mild for that. Just save all the bits and pieces throw them in the mold, place in the microwave and 45 seconds later a new bar of soap.

Yes baling wire will fix so many things. Now most farmers use twine on their hay, it is handy for a few things but no comparison to wire. Now we have to buy baling wire in rolls, and it is not the same wire but still useful as can be.
After working with trees and getting pitch on your hands, use butter to melt the pitch off.
If your dog digs holes in your back yard, put the dog poop in the hole and cover it over with dirt. The dog won’t dig there again.
