Seattle Is Dying. It's a harsh title. Someone on social media even called it a "hopeless" title. I'll admit to you that I wrestled with the name for some time. Too dramatic, I wondered? Too dark? In the end I went with it because I believe it to be true. I believe that Seattle is dying. Rotting from within.

You cannot be conservative there [Seattle]. It is too physically dangerous to be known as conservative.
Physically dangerous, maybe, if you are wearing a Trump hat or have a Trump bumper sticker on your car, but definitely socially dangerous. If you are known as traditionally Christian, good luck getting hired, and if you are a traditionally Christian business owner, prepare for boycotts or vandalism.
Perry Como’s gotta be turning in his grave right now.
A beautiful city when Perry recorded “Seattle!”

I wonder why? When the local news always covers and cheers for the rats that destroyed the city.
Weird how that works out...

Very sad to hear. I lived there from 1990—2000. Makes me very sad.

"I saw a post somewhere from some mouth-breather that KOMO had gone alt-right - laughable!"
KOMO is owned by Sinclair, which requires them to give a slot to Sharyl Attkisson, which is good, and for a while they were forced to air conservative commentary by a guy named Boris something, but I haven't seen that for awhile, so maybe they scrubbed it.
But the local crew is staunchly left; just last week, they featured homosexuals who were sponsoring some sort of fashion event, and they brought out a guy wearing what looked like the sort of gown that Mae West might have worn.
yesterday, their mid-morning news broadcast didn't even mention the Holland terrorist shooting. Today, they mentioned it half-way into the show, but never mentioned the shooter's Islamist pedigree.

Love your three posts. Perfect! Uncle Miltie, Salvey, then perfect exclamation point with Uncle Miltie's response.
You two should get an act ;D.
Congrats btw Uncle Miltie. I'm just in the process of your number 2. Pray I can post a similar number 1 one day.
The Seattle I left was a wonderful place. Btw. So sad to see it fall off the cliff.

Actually Ed Koch was a good Mayor who turned NYC around from the hellhole of the 70s.

Wow. I only made it a little over 4 minutes in and I’m horrified. I lived there from 1985-2000. I used to cycle on the Burke Gilman, Run in the parks all over the city as I watched the sun come up. Even had my car break down on I-5 N once late at night before cell phones and walked to a pay phone right through the establishing shot for this video—back then there was not homeless camp and I felt completely safe as a woman walking that night. What a -hithole. So very sad. Once a real treasure.

Say what you want about Bloomie but he continued Rudy’s measures. Crime, welfare, homelessness all continued to fall through Bloomie’s 12 years.

Was there in the late 90s....beautiful city. Sad to see this. Liberals are walking poison.

Every major American city has the resemblance of looking like Nagasaki in the hoods after the bomb and governed like it’s a Socialist utopia.

San Jose is on this track.
There is a guy placing ‘this is what government failure looks like’ signs where the giant piles of garbage turn up.
Sad.

I stand corrected. So it is possible for a Democratic Mayor to do the right thing for their city. Or has that time past?

Very well put.
These liberal northerners were in my Southern town at restaurant called Bicsuitville. I was in line behind them and had to hold my tongue. They were openly mocking us and the food we eat (biscuits) and said the best thing to do was to move to a Southern town, get involved in local politic and change if from within.
I wished I had the superpower to make people spontaneously combust.
