The first fully assembled Boeing 777X - the world's longest passenger jetliner - has been unveiled.
The aircraft had expected to be presented with much fanfare in a ceremonial debut at the plane manufacturer's plant in Everett, near Seattle, on Wednesday.
But as a mark of respect for those who died in the Ethiopian Airlines 737 Max 8 crash, it was instead unveiled in a low-key event that was only attended by Boeing employees.

the 777 and the 787 were the two planes that killed the a380; two engines, not four.
Why promote a new plane with such fanfare when the company’s other brand new plane just fell out of the sky?
Thanks for the link. I didn’t know or don’t remember that problem. It’s crazy how the pilots called tech support while flying the plane.
How about we get the 737 super max to stay in the air first... Let’s get win 7 working again before we throw more updates at Boeing win 10...
I’m driving until they get this mess figured out... If ever.
Am I the only one who looks at those photos and thinks “Connie...”?
If the Airbus 380 was physically imposing, the new Boing 777X takes it to an entirely new level.
I don’t care how sleek and technologically-advanced the thing is. I find air travel to be so tiresome, uncomfortable, and degrading these days that if another means of travel exists, I’ll take it. I’ll take the extra 12 hours of driving through scenic countryside over 2 hours in a TSA strip search conga line and 3 hours of miserable confinement in a tin can amid the smells of fat tourists and sounds of screaming brats any day.
“I guarantee you the seats will still be smaller and less comfortable than ever.”
And you haven’t even started talking about the bath rooms!! Oh well, at least those johns make a lot of money for the makers of Immodium when they sell it to experienced air travelers.

Did you ad the article? This long-planned event was changed from a glittering promotion to a low-key Boeing employees-only event.
The Airbus a380 is an overall larger plane than the 777X). In addition to having two seating decks instead of one (the 777X has one), and four engines (777X has two) it has a larger total payload capacity than the 777X.
The max passenger capacity of the Airbus a380 is 500+ while it is only 425 for the 777X. All specific capacities are selected from what is possible, and depend on the airline’s chosen sesting configurations.
That long sleek fuselage reminds me of the Lockheed Constellation.
What a shame, I fly Emirates alot and have flown on the A380 alot and in Business class, it was out of this world, the 777 does not come close in my opinion.
