This sounds good.

But a little tough to understand.

Is it good?

The only logical way to handle the backlog. As long as illegal immigration is swamping the system there can be no legal immigration.

and make it more difficult for people already in the U.S. to bring over family members.

Sounds like a great idea to me.

No. It is bad. Legal immigration will be compromised in order to facilitate the backlog of illegal aliens.

Once again, law abiding people who try to play by the rules get the shaft while criminals get priority.

In other words, fewer of the type of immigrants we should want... and more people whose first decision upon arriving at our border is to break the law.

More winning!

'USCIS staffers explained to the Times, shuttering the offices could impede efforts from people applying to immigrate while abroad, and make it more difficult for people already in the U.S. to bring over family members.'

Frankly, I’d like a 25-year moratorium on all immigration. We have 330 million people. We don’t need more. We need to use the US citizens we have. Some folks want to import neurosurgeons from Switzerland, or wherever. I do not.

We need to assimilate the people we have. We need to train up American workers to do the jobs we need done in America.

I oppose legal immigration almost as much as I oppose illegal immigration.

I’d be happy to see all immigration, legal and illegal, to be stopped. Once we find and kick out those who came here illegally or forgot to return home, then perhaps we can talk about opening a couple back up.
