Felicity Huffman, Lori Loughlin among actresses, CEOs charged in alleged college admissions scam

Actresses and chief executives are among 50 people arrested in a nationwide college admissions cheating scam, authorities announced Tuesday.

According to charging documents, actresses Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin are among those involved facing charges.

The suspects allegedly paid bribes of up to $6 million to get their kids into elite colleges, including Yale, Stanford, Georgetown and USC.

In most cases, the students did not know their admission was contingent on a bribe.

University athletic coaches and administrators of college entrance exams were also among those arrested.

The alleged scam centered around a man in California who ran a business helping students get into the college of their choice.

Authorities say parents would pay him a predetermined amount, with full knowledge of what they were doing. He would then steer the money to one of two places: either an SAT or ACT administrator, or a college athletic coach.

The coaches would allegedly arrange a fake profile that listed the prospective student as an athlete, and exam administrators would either hire proctors to take the test or correct the answers of a student.

The bribes ranged from a few thousand dollars to up to 6 million, according to officials. The charging documents, unsealed in Boston federal court, are more than 200 pages long.

They allege that Huffman and her husband "made a purported charitable contribution of $15,000...to participate in the college entrance exam cheating scheme on behalf of her eldest daughter. Huffman later made arrangements to pursue the scheme a second time, for her younger daughter, before deciding not to do so."

Federal agents say they have recorded telephone calls with Huffman and a cooperating witness.

The documents say the Loughlin and her husband "agreed to pay bribes totaling $500,000 in exchange for having their two daughters designated as recruits to the USC crew team -- despite the fact that they did not participate in crew -- thereby facilitating their admission to USC."

Official say they have emails from Loughlin.

We’ll see just how upstanding the Hallmark Channel and if they’ll dump Loughlin.

Doubtful. They have hundreds of hours of her material. Should have stuck to making their cheap flicks in Canada, eh?

The record number of applicants forced the USC Office of Admission to accept just 13 percent – the lowest ever for USC.

I wonder how many of those are Chinese, and you think the "Tiger Moms" aren't out there bribing schools to let their kids in?

Right-BYW-these are 2 more clowns whose names are thrown at us AS IF we are supposed to know who they are.

Every day they assault us with ‘news’ about people we've NEVER heard of.

The MSM is populated, wall-to-wall, with photogenic bimbos who have NO credentials and NOTHING to recommend them to our attention!

is Boston University mentioned?

"...fake test scores were submitted to Boston College, Boston University and Northeastern University..."

This might explain Alexandria Ortega-Cortez's alleged BA in Economics from BU.

Garbage:

The former Desperate Housewives star will attend the women’s march on Washington to protest Donald Trump’s inauguration, which will take place the day after the President-elect is officially sworn in as head of state, with her two daughters Sophia Grace, 16, and Georgia Grace, 14.

"I'm going to the Million Women March in DC with my two daughters, and my sister and her daughter and their two grandchildren,” Ms Huffman said.

"I feel that the election was somewhat of a feminist issue. I feel like the best of us was bested by not the best of them."

Huffman then went on to say, "My two daughters are special and will be attending a much more elite college than this disgusting person that was elected by the stupid people of this country."

#3 How much was the Chelsea Clintons bribe?

I’ve often wondered about that, especially Oxford! Say it isn’t so! But then, I remember the episode on “Inspector Morse” , in which there was such cheating going on at one of Oxford’s colleges. Cambridge has always been a hotbed of spy recruits, but lots of brilliance. Oxford -— well, Bill Clinton was there as a Rhodes Scholar. Of course, he had to leave in disgrace...

The indictment says the daughter was given twice the amount of time to take the SAT as other students and the paid proctor agreed to secretly correct her answers afterwards.

How do you live down being the girl who got twice as much time to take the test and still couldn't do well enough to get in?

The smarter thing to do would have been to become a friend of the school.

If they couldn't give a building they could have given lectures, public appearances, master classes, book signings, donated art works, provided internships and jobs for students, made professors advisers on films.

“How can a college or university give out fake diplomas to so many people?”

It is a business. Why do the colleges cost so much? Loans...
How are college admins, profs and staff paid so much money?
They can get it. because the lines of students can’t wait to get a degree from “Waatsammatta U”

Bribes? What a concept.
Hope this plays out to be a lesson to all involved, especially the smug Administrators and faculties of some Universities.
IT SHOULD NOT COST $200,000++ TO “EARN” A COLLEGE DEGREE.

I would guess her grades and scores were not good enough to go the traditional bribery route.
