Because of the Jones Act, the only vessels that can bring supplies into Hawaii from the Mainland are “domestic bottoms,” that is, ships built in the U.S. The problem is they don’t build ships in the U. S. any more. So this is a good example of what is going on—decrepit vessels still being used because there is no other option. Another example of how we are now living in the Soviet Union.
LOL
Lord, I remember it well. I had to
eat my share of mushy tomatoes.
I remember when blue berries were in season. We would make jam and pies. We scarffed down the pies and the jam lasted until next year. We did the same with most all things. Corn on the cob was my favorite.
LMAO_!!!
Send them all the Tofu & Near Meat they could possibly ever eat!
Once Ocasio-Cortez gets Obama’s inter-continental railroad up and running they won’t need ships or aircraft.
People will no longer talk about gaining weight on cruises.
Wait come to think of it what is AOCs suggestion of how to get things between OCEANS without ships??
Can’t the ships just disembark from Vancouver? Like Alaska cruises?
Let them eat Spam Musubi.
When that runs out and “da bruddahs” start rampaging through food stores, there will be some serious unrest.
Haoles (whites) need to stay the h*ll away from Hawaii. We should whistle up the Japanese to come take it over.
Every creature comfort and convenience on an island was brought there from somewhere else.
Just ask Wilson.
lol
“...deliveries have fallen behind schedule because of a combination of bad weather and mechanical problems on ships...”
Looks like you nailed it. F’em!.
AIR DROP their rations:
“AS GOD IS MY WITNESS I THOUGHT TOFU TURKEYS COULD FLY!!!”
People will have to take 3 month vacations to sail to Europe :)
We do build ships in the U.S.
The newest Matson vessel is the Daniel K. Inouye, and the Philadelphia shipyard will be building as well the next two of similar class for them.
There are several shipyards in the U.S. building primarily military vessels, but we do have some commercial capability as well.
Since there’s no transcontinental electric trains, the only way @AOC can get “greenly” to California is on a sailing ship.
I wish someone would send her out on a sailing ship. To nowhere. With 2 days rations. In stormy weather.
America’s Socialist Sweetheart
Wait until they have to find ocean going ships that have to rely on either electricity or wind.
They ban fossil fuels and there’s nothing to run the ships on.
Has anyone given any thought as to how the new green deal folks have figured out how to force the rest of the world to comply?
