On a recent thread Resettozero happened to tweek newfreep on the fact that, dating from 1999, that screen name was now a little funny. And it dawned on me that I’d been looking forward to my 20th anniversary of FReeperdom.

DUDE !!!!! ( or Dudette ? )...we had to run into each other. John Gibson\Soledad O’Brien among others and MSNBC chat.
Every now an again they took a chat question and put it on the air.
We were a small band of conservatives who took the hits and kept on coming.
We’d fill up a room and force them to open another chat room, hit and run there then go to the next room.
We’d hit ‘em with facts and they called us names as a response.
Nothing has changed.
Tough to have multiple mIRC clients open.
My memory is kind of hazy, but we would have a Trivia Night in one of the rooms - could be music or movies.
Doing it all over a modem and DX-486...crazy times...

This was a Microsoft Chat room and not an MSNBC Chat room. I think Towanda and Yellow Rose of Texas started it with amom. Two-Thirds Vote Aye, FrogMom, RAH and some others were on it. I think Two Thirds, FrogMom and, of course, amom still drop by FR but Towanda left in 2000, RAH as well, Yellow Rose of Texas passed away about eight years ago.
Howlin (now deceased) was on it before she even registered and became “Howlin” and that was before her son was killed in the carbon monoxide accident.
And yes, I am a Dude.
My original date was sometime in 1998. But we had a glitch and I had to re-register in 1999. So at least my official pedigree predates the Y2K scare.
