People hate on Crash because it beat out Brokeback Mountain, so the race movie beat out the gay movie and libs thought the Academy played it safe.
Crash, while not a great movie, was typical Oscar stuff, with lots of great actors in it, so it isnt too bad to watch if you go for this sort of thing.
I think I saw about 3 or 4movies this past year, and most (all) were comic book films.
Wife dragged me to see Green Book on the recommendation of some conservative friends. I was most pleasantly surprised, especially at Viggo’s acting, his physical transformation, and acquired accent. The Smithsonian Channel will be doing a show on the history of the Green Book tonight at 8 pm and I look forward to watching it.
He’s having the best week ever, isn’t he? This latest season of True Detective was INCREDIBLE. It had some seriously good acting, beautiful cinematography, and smart storytelling. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a good binge!
The fact that some conservatives actually liked “Green Book” probably explains why Spike Lee had a problem with it.
And the director, writer, producer Peter Farrelly last year admitted to flashing his weinie to hundreds in first-time film meetings as “a joke”. Not only did he get away with it without consequences, but “The Academy” awarded him with Best Picture for the year.
Pretty darned rare to win more than a plurality in a field of 9.
But yeah, if not buoyed by other wins as well, suspect as a Best Picture win, for sure.
Drudge has a fixation with Hollywood and movies. If it weren’t for his Oscars ‘headline’ on his page, no one would even know there was a Oscar night.
Drudge, stop with the Hollywierd promotion.
Most gay men do. Heck they probably make up half the audience that actually watches it.
Wow, with all these accolades maybe I ought to to see this movie. Nah, I think Ill watch another Bogart movie again. Im not interested in any Hollyweird production.
I saw it last week, I thought it was really good. Probably a 4 out of 5 stars. What I liked about it is it threw all the politically correct BS about race right out the window and showed what REAL racism is, and it’s not the crap the left pushes today. Plus it ended on a positive note, how basic communication breaks down walls - while I heard Spike Lees movie ended on a bad note by blaming Trump for racism. So once again, we have another leftist - Spike Lee - insulting every last black who went through REAL racism 55+ years ago, and then he whines and complains when his movies doesn’t win best picture
Wow, I heard about that show. So it’s really good? You just convinced me. I was looking for a good show to watch.
Uh, LAT, virtually everything coming out of your third world town is not worth &^%*.
The vast majority of us have not seen one of H-wood’s Oscar nominees and we really no longer give a shi-—er-—Obama.
I think Crash is an amazing movie. It’s for adults though. Only adults will truly get it.
Thanks for your honest review. The only movie I saw on the list was “Free Solo” which was good, even though Alex Honnold is a lefty. But I, like some others here, ddin’t realize the Oscars were last night. I work Sunday’s and no longer have cable lol. But I suspect ratings will be down, way down. My 25 year old son said Black Panther was good, but I’m not a super hero sort.
While some on the Left among Hollywood may not like the film, the political demographics of Hollywood are clear - it is overwhelmingly folks on the Left. So, it is folks with more Left than Conservative politics that voted for the film.
Why? It checked off one of the Left’s current agendas - “Let’s keep racial politics alive, we still need it to herd the sheeple our way.”
It was not about the details of the story, or the acting, or the directing, or the filming - it’s 1950s segregation all over again, and that was enough for a majority of the academy’s voters.
I’d recommend Arctic over a movie that still won over a majority of Hollywood liberals. It’s an independent film with a limited release so it may only be in theaters a couple more days and it’s likely not to be nominated for anything (except possibly cinematography) because there’s no politics in it at all in a setting where hollywood likely would insist on global warming propaganda and it stars a white male portrayed in a positively. Those two traits, taken together, means the left is probably going to shun it as extremely right-wing at next year’s awards.
Did Spike Lee throw a hissy fit?
Watch wagon train
“The truth of those stories has been called into question by many, including Shirleys family, which wasnt consulted during production and which dismissed the movie as a symphony of lies.

We don’t get truth anymore from ‘news’ or hollyweird or politicians, especially libtard ones.
“Crash” portrays southland (LA and surrounding areas) as the racist, intolerant, bigoted cesspool it really is, so it’s not surprising to see an LA Times article taking a swipe at it.
Crash absolutely deserved Best Picture that year. Brokeback made no freaking sense to the normals.
