People hate on Crash because it beat out Brokeback Mountain, so the race movie beat out the gay movie and libs thought the Academy played it safe.
Crash, while not a great movie, was typical Oscar stuff, with lots of great actors in it, so it isn’t too bad to watch if you go for this sort of thing.
I think I saw about 3 or 4movies this past year, and most (all) were comic book films.
“Crash” portrays southland (LA and surrounding areas) as the racist, intolerant, bigoted cesspool it really is, so it’s not surprising to see an LA Times article taking a swipe at it.
Crash absolutely deserved Best Picture that year. Brokeback made no freaking sense to the normals.
