With the Galaxy S10, Samsung celebrates its 10th anniversary Galaxy S phone by going big and bold. How bold? Each of the four new Galaxy S10 models is more impressive than the last: there's the cheaper S10E ($750), the Galaxy S10 ($900), S10 Plus ($1,000) and Galaxy S10 5G, the brand's first 5G phone (price TBA, as are UK and Australian prices for the whole range).

This is Samsung seeking to whip up excitement, roar back in sales and defend its title as the world's top smartphone brand. But the Galaxy S10 phones also represent a quest for perfection.

Time to stop calling these devices phones. They’re pocket computers with phones in them.

“Terabyte storage, and 5g, will soon be offered by the lesser-known brands, at half the price or less.
I’ll wait a couple of months.”

You gonna wait more than a couple of months.

It will be by Samsung

The lesser-known brands won't be by Samsung.

The newest features of today, usually become the norm within the next 6-12 months, and are offered by a variety of makers, usually the Chinese brands.

“The phone is just too big. 6” plus screen I don’t need. “

The Apple SE is just too small. I need something more than 4”.

I remember when the Motorola RAZR was considered to be the cutting edge phone.

It took Apple years to catch up with Samsung screens and wireless charging.

And they had to buy Samsung screens to do it!

You gonna wait more than a couple of months.

Other brands are all planning on putting out 5g phones, and some already have them or will soon launch, and sooner than most think.

The terabyte storage is not hard to emulate and others will be 'copying' the feature soon, if they haven't already done so.

Interesting that device makers are now going back to on-device storage rather than cloud storage options. Guess the makers have noticed too many problems with cloud storage, especially with the spying and selling of people's personal data.

Each to their own. I would go back to a updated Motorola Star Tek if it was available. I really like that phone or some of the flip phones made by Sanyo.

Throw in the cheap factory fast-chargers for a quick boost and I never worry about a dead phone (S8).

Each to his own. But I could never go back to a flip phone.

Most phones still don’t have all the features of the ‘sold’ S9+

One of my boys has an S7 that is fading. It has a sealed in battery, and I believe the S7 was made before the Note-motivated battery improvements. Oh well, tough luck for him.

Yeah, I don’t use the fingerprint sensor for that reason. I found myself winding up with an fogged camera. I set mine for a ten minute on time, and punch in a 4 digit ID to start things off.

I got $450 with my S7 on trade-in for the $900 S9+
