With the Galaxy S10, Samsung celebrates its 10th anniversary Galaxy S phone by going big and bold. How bold? Each of the four new Galaxy S10 models is more impressive than the last: there's the cheaper S10E ($750), the Galaxy S10 ($900), S10 Plus ($1,000) and Galaxy S10 5G, the brand's first 5G phone (price TBA, as are UK and Australian prices for the whole range).

This is Samsung seeking to whip up excitement, roar back in sales and defend its title as the world's top smartphone brand. But the Galaxy S10 phones also represent a quest for perfection.

“and a bit of internet browsing. “

You are correct about ‘a bit’.

Browsing the internet on a flip phone is the ultimate torture.

I believe it was YOU that said you didn’t pay for internet access!

I don't have to pay for internet access. It comes included with my cell service, and my cell service is about the cost of what I used to pay for wired telephone service. For the price of my cell service, I get unlimited texts, data, and phone. IOW, might as well have been 'FREE" when I consider that my wired service was actually costing me about as much as my cell service, while I get so much more included with my phone service.

That is still overkill for me, since I hate to use the phone for internet access, and I don't do Facebook or Twitter or shopping or any real browsing on the phone. My phone actually ends up sitting next to me without actual usage for about 99% of the day, which is about the same kind of usage I did with my wired service. However, it's nice to know that the service is there, just in case.

Certain plans will give you a free phone.

As you define free ... comes with your plan.

Still not free.

Included is not the same as free. I mention included, and when something is included, it's not free, since you're still paying for the service AND the phone. It's like when smartphones are 'affordable' when you pay for them in your cell plan.

Hmmm. Contradicts your previous post:

With my cell service, I get unlimited data, text and calls. And, if you were to follow all of my previous posts in this thread, I was comparing my cell service to my wired service before I got rid of the wired service. IOW, I 'upgraded' for the same price as my original wired service, which to me seems like a steal compared to what other people pay to get unlimited text, data, and phone. And, btw, I get NetFlix included for the same price as I was paying originally with my wired service. (I'm assuming you can guess what cell service company offers or offered Netflix with their plan).

So, yeah, if you want to equate 'included' as the same as 'not free', go right ahead. In any case, I'm not paying extra for the price, which is the same as my original wired service through Verizon.

To me, not having to pay extra for a better service, and getting 'more', means that, those extras 'might as well have been "free". I'm still paying, but, kind of 'free' in the context of what I used to pay for less features/less services.

You were the one that said included was not free.

You were the one that said included was not free.

You win.

Ain't such a thing as 'free'.

Ain't such a thing as 'free' if it's included.

Ain't such a thing as included for free.

If I get stuff included in a new service which I didn't have in an older service, and for the same price, to me, it's a bonus. Though I would be paying for that 'bonus' in the new price structure, I can still consider it a 'freebie'. Though the freebie is still not free within the new service, it can be considered something that comes 'free of charge' compared to NOT getting it with my earlier service. Sometimes, people get upgraded for the same price; so, what to call it then?
