Chicago – Chicago police are investigating a tip that on the night “Empire” actor Jussie Smollett reported being attacked by two masked men he was in an elevator of his apartment building with two brothers later arrested and released from custody in the probe.
Department spokesman Anthony Guglielmi says the person who lives in the building or was visiting someone there reported seeing the three together the night last month that Smollett says two masked men hurled racial and homophobic slurs at him, beat him and looped a rope around his neck.
Guglielmi says police haven’t confirmed the person’s account. Detective plan to interview the person on Tuesday.
Last week, police announced that the “investigation had shifted” following interviews with the brothers and their release from custody without charges. Police have requested another interview with Smollett.
But will he get the noose?

The low IQ Jussie didn’t realize that many hotel elevator “cars” have CCTV that captures and records activity in the elevator.
Some lady saw them talking together outside her window...and it was at the place that the melee took place. Heard it...can’t confirm at this time.

Governor Coonman Northam of Virginia must be so happy for Smollett taking the spotlight off his blackface while the media runs to cover an even more sensational racebait storyline even though it was a hoax. Thank goodness for hoaxes

Yeah, but the recording is only there for a week or 2 before it’s recorded over. What’s it been now?? Month?

True that. But don’t you think one or more members of the hotel security staff reviewed the footage at the time the report was made publicly? The cops likely would have asked them but had the cops not asked, securitystaffers likely would have done that on their own initiative. And they can save CCTV footagethatthey find possibly “interesting”.
