Another stupid article where “overrated” just means hands I don’t like that much. Music is the art of affecting people emotionally with sound. If millions of people love a band’s music, and it is still popular decades later, it cannot be “overrated”.
Oooh... Green Day. How did I leave off Green Day? They should top The Eagles.
The Stones have a half dozen all-time classic songs. The problem is the other 2,353 songs they recorded.
Prince was underrated, IMO.

Prince, Tom Petty, Steve Winwood, Jeff Lynne and others perform “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” at the 2004 Hall of Fame Inductions.
No one’s posted Lynyrd Skynrd yet?
Well let me be the first.
“And this bird you cannot cha-an-an-an-an-an-an-an-an-an-ange....”
U2
Grateful Dead
Springsteen
Amen to that, lousy arrogant bum
Frampton Comes Alive is still one of the best rock albums of all time. Cheap Trick at Budokhan too.
Springsteen, definitely overrated and a plitical moron to boot. He should be a poster boy for “cultural appropriation” If it weren’t for Robert Johnson, Howling Wolf, Muddy Waters and other bluesman from the past he’d be just another White trash from The Jersey shore, crashing Chevelles on the Garden State Parkway. He sounds like he hasn’t had a bowel movement in over 40 years.
I started to appreciate them more when I heard some of their more obscure tunes like this:
The Rolling Stones playing a hybrid rock-bluegrass tune. Remarkable. LOL.
Went to Highway to Hell tour and Back in Black tour Fox Theatre Atlanta 1979 and 1980. Those two concerts were 2 of my most memorable.
Like I said everybody has an opinion.
Sacrilege!!! :-)
Agreed. Overrated fer sher.
Agree with Sprinsteen, Michael Jackson, and Nirvana ... but CCR, the Doors, and the Rolling Stones are overrated? Ridiculous!
He missed the biggest one:
The Beatles.
I liked Credence, and Three Dog Night, and the Four Wheel Drive.
Dave Matthews Band - OVERRATED
Everybody thinks somebody is overrated.
That’s what you call ‘Freedom of Opinion’.
Definitely.
