So, give every taxpayer in the US $10,000 a year, every year until your money runs out. It’s only fair.

The way he gives his money away in unbelievable amounts to hundreds, if not thousands of organizations that conservatives are aghast at makes this sobering to contemplate.

Boy is that the truth.
Intel tried for decades to get them to listen to their customer base.
There is a reason that only in the last year has Intel and IBM moved to W10.
The product was THAT BAD.

so write a check to the government- they can spend your money so much better than you can!
You could fund 1/10th of the ‘high speed rail’ in California.

I remember a story years ago that the MS founders stole the basis for Windows from Xerox. Maybe Gates feels guilt he could assuage by giving ALL his money away.

Gates is correct. He should pay reparations for foisting Microsoft Bob on the world. A double dose of reparations is also required for the atrocity known as “Clippy”.

What a dick. He imports H-1b’s by the thousands to undercut his employee’s wage earning power and then tells us doesn’t deserve his billions. Hell is waiting Bill. Hell.

In Gates’ own case, he’s right, as anyone who knows the history of Microsoft’s business practices is well aware. For every dollar he ever made he probably cost a thousand to others who were hostage to his unlawful monopolistic behavior.

Bill Gates neurotic impulses do not define just deserts or morality. Obviously, he could have limited his wealth producing activities, at any time he wished. This attitude is just plain silly, and contributes nothing whatsoever of value to any debate.
Reason Or Compulsion?

Everyone who followed his patent poaching antics in the eighties (chronicled in BYTE and in PC Magazine) agrees that he shouldn’t be that rich. And he owes restitution to a lot of people who didn’t have the money to defend their intellectual property in court.
The man is a parasite, amongst his other attributes.

most rich either inherited their money or were risky deal makers or hit it big with rock music or the movies, where a lot of the "stars" slept their way into roles....
the rich are not smarter than us.
but they are less moralistic and ethical, are willing to go bankrupt on other people's money and use the good old boy network, with special deals, with the govt...
they are not better than us.....

Hiring H-1bs and ruining software as a career for Americans. $20B
Creating terrible software and stifling competition. $50B
Crying that you don't deserve your billions. Priceless.
